So it’s official. The very first trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows was just released, and safe to say, i’m pretty stoked. Now, the world premiere trailer looks as amazing as we all expected. This video is just me going over a breakdown of what i’ve discovered at first glance.

Assassin’s Creed is an open-world, action-adventure, and stealth game franchise published by Ubisoft and developed mainly by its studio Ubisoft Montreal using the game engine Anvil and its more advanced derivatives. Created by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the Assassin’s Creed video game series depicts a fictional millennia-old struggle between the Order of Assassins, who fight for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar, who desire peace through order and control. The series features historical fiction, science fiction, and fictional characters intertwined with real-world historical events and historical figures. In most games, players control a historical Assassin while also playing as an Assassin Initiate or someone caught in the Assassin–Templar conflict in the present-day framing story. Considered a spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia series, Assassin’s Creed took inspiration from the novel Alamut by the Slovenian writer Vladimir Bartol, based on the historical Hashashin sect of the medieval Middle East.

  1. Pro Gamers suddenly care about AC and historical accuracy when it's a black main protagonist in Japan lmao (Yasuke actually existed and was a samurai btw). Fighting the pope under the vatican with alien artifacts is okay tho

  3. in regards to what i've seen, this game will either barley break even or barley make a profit…but this is just based on the information i've seen so far…i could be wrong, but…i really don't see the average gamer or AC fan shelling out the upgraded bundles of this game…$70 is already too much, in my opinion, for ANY game these days…don't care if it takes 4 hours or 400 hours to fully complete…just looking at the economy these days, i don't see this game breaking any sales records. also, and this is the 6 metric tons of salt from Twitter, there has been a LOT of push back from the Japanese gamers about this game and the "history" its supposed to follow…my opinion doesn't matter about Assassins Creed since i've only played up to Syndicate, and even then, i had a hard time with that game…i didn't finish it…i didn't play any of the modern AC games, as the RPG style was just a turn off for me. Seeing how the "gaming culture" has been shifted the past decade, who has been brought in to develop and write games, and how companies have been acting, i honestly don't see how the gaming industry can survive…we can only hope to keep the indy devs alive and thriving because the AAA scene, well to put it bluntly, is going woke…hiring on a bunch of entitled morons that have little to no respect for the IP is a good way to destroy a series, if not entire companies…i'm more interested in playing Squirrel With Guns than this game to be honest…again, this game may break record sales…but it may also flop…honestly, i hope it flops…that way, Ubisoft realizes the mistakes they made by hiring the people they hired to write their narratives…but this is just my opinion…

  4. Besides the fact everyone just ignoring the obvious Japanese character they are able to play with, it’s obvious that the only reason yasuke is a playable protagonist and not just a crucial character like a mentor or just a cool plot element to the story is that like both Valhalla and Odyssey the hire ups don’t want to release a game with just a single female lead. Even if they just started with Star Wars outlaws they stated that female leads wouldn’t sell games although multiple examples old and new say otherwise. And canonical kassandra and female eivor are the true leads of their respective games. They would have done the same thing here BUT because the fans hate it or just want a single protagonist they just found a way around it by this.

The devs like before only wanted Naoe as the lead but to bend their knee and and kiss the hand that feeds them they went looking for another male character in history since making one from scratch would most likely delay the game to re-write the story since it would most likely be a brother or something along those lines so they opted to find some in history that has next to no background or story that they could manipulate easily into the existing story.

Yasuke fit the bill ten fold and him being black was just and upside or a factor on picking him over others that were like him.

Am I mad about it. No but I know the devs will do as much as they can to make the most of it

  5. I still think the best way to do this game isn’t to break it up between stories, but to have two differing stories, depending on who you play; like new game plus, you play the story from start to finish from each character’s perspective, coming to the end point together. It would be a really cool way to tell a story, and having both diverge but be separated by the player would have huge replay value

  6. Retainer and samurai aside, it's funny people complaining having non-japanese protagonist in japanese setting. Meanwhile nioh has william as protagonist which totally non-japanese too. That says something.

  7. Yasuke (弥助 or 弥介) was a man, likely of African origin, who served as a servant and retainer to the Japanese daimyō Oda Nobunaga in 1581–1582, during the Sengoku period. He was retained by the daimyō as a koshō (小姓, page) for a period of 15 months until Nobunaga's death in the Honnō-ji Incident.
