ASMR Organizing Art Supplies – No Talking – Paper Tearing – Chalk Snapping

Something a bit different from the usual art supply review videos. I’ve been organizing several hundred pastels over the last few weeks and decided to record my Rembrandt soft pastel collection.

+ What are pastels? +
Soft pastels are sticks made of pigment held together with a few additional ingredients. I use pastels as my main art medium of choice to draw animals and landscapes.

+ What am I doing? +
This brand of soft pastel uses a paper wrapper to indicate the color information. I’m removing approximately half of the wrapper and breaking the pastel stick in half to use in my everyday kit. The other half stick with the wrapper & color info will be kept in storage until the first half is used up.

+ What is the container for? +
The container containing small broken pieces of pastel will be used in a future video to create new pastels out of pieces that would be normally too small to hold comfortably.

+ Why do the outer labels look different? +
Rembrandt’s pastel line has existed since 1924 and has undergone design changes with their labeling several times in the last 100 years. Most of my pastels are from the 2020s, 1990s, and 1980s. Because of the stable ingredients in pastels, they can be used for decades without any issues.
