  1. So in regards to Willow no longer being on Disney+, I think it's pretty stupid to remove it since it's still taking up space on a server somewhere anyway, they might as well make it accessible. I did only watch the rest of it after giving up after 3 episodes because I knew it was being removed however. Had I not heard that, I would have been upset because I was curious about how it ended, but I wanted to know the show's future since I was not having a great time watching it. I want to support other Lucasfilm properties, but the Willow show was not doing it for me. It's cute that they thought they could get two more Seasons out of it to be honest because the show was a roller coaster of quality. This episode's good, this one is not, the writing is sometimes decent and other times awful, the character interactions are likeable, then they aren't, there's manufactured tension that then does get resolved, and I thought it was an absolutely stupid reason for the characters to be at odds with one another the way they were acting in the show. Visually, the show was spectacular, and the best episode was when they were crossing the Shattered Sea, it looked great and most moments between the characters are great, but the story with the other episodes just didn't really have much to like, so it was more just spectacle for spectacle's sake.
And that ending, like I said, I think it's cute they thought they could get two more Seasons out of this when they really needed to just wrap this story up in one Season, and find a new adventure to go on in any followup stories. It ends like Jason and the Argonauts, that being the main goal was achieved, but there's still the journey home, and while there can certainly be things that happened, you have to resolve the story of the captured prince being rescued and returned home because the show already made it clear that Evil was going to return no matter what. There's no catharsis. There's no problem in returning home and letting there be a happy resolution because now everyone has been on this adventure and are ready to take on whatever challenges may come in the future. It's as if the Death Star never got blown up in A New Hope because the princess was saved. Uh no, we have the plans, she's safe, now let's go kill the death ball and have an award ceremony. They never needed to make more Star Wars because the story did wrap up well, but since the Empire still existed and there were allusions to the bigger Galaxy, the characters could live on and go on more adventures. Get Prince Aric home, have a reunion with everyone, share some bad news, too, but then end with a glimmer of hope that Evil will not triumph now that this team has been formed and their first mission was a success. You don't need to actually tease the future, we already no it's not going to be easy, but we know they have what it takes to take it on. But the actual mission was never completed because they thought this show was going to be such a success that they could get two more Seasons out of it, so it ends leaving me feeling empty, regardless of how much I was enjoying the show or not.
So yeah, it's a shame that the show is gone, regardless of its reception, but even if it still stuck around, that wouldn't change the fact that it was canceled either. This does prevent fans from banding together and collectively calling out for more though, and it shows that Star Wars is kind of the only thing Lucasfilm is good for these days, but only in a self-fulfilling prophesy type way because Disney isn't giving anything else a chance. Was Willow a risk? Absolutely, but had it been written better (ignore the negative reception based on bigotry and racism, the actual dialogue at times is atrocious and the comedy is poor, and a lot of strange decisions were made with the music), we could have actually had a third franchise in Lucasfilm to get excited about, minimal as it may have been.
