Ian maybe was going to stab Nico in the back, but never got that chance if so. In that scene, Ian moved in looking like he was about to attack Nico… whether he was going to attack her or just wanted to save some face by proving to her that he COULD take her out if he wanted … is never known as Nico did not take any chances upon seeing him looking menacing, and immediately ended him in case he WAS about to try to kill her. This serves to demonstrate how important it would be in any such future mission that professionals be selected to crew the flight rather than recruiting a random dysfunctional CW drama level parody of a crew.

It took me a half hour to realise why the guy playing Nico's husband gave me bad vibes. Then I realised that he's played by the guy who should have ABSOLUTELY refused the role of Goku in the Dragonball movie.
