The Arks of Omen have sown terror and death from one side of the galaxy to the other. Despite the efforts of those who opposed them, their masters have gathered enough arcane artefacts for Vashtorr the Arkifane to fashion his monstrous Key. The hour draws nigh when the daemon and the Despoiler will between them awaken this engine of terrible power.

There are still those who can oppose their dark plan. Chief amongst them are Supreme Grand Master Azrael and the many Unforgiven Chapters who fight beneath his banner. Gathering their might, the Dark Angels and their successors answer the Arkifane’s challenge, hoping to quell whatever malevolence he and Abaddon seek to unleash. Nor are they alone in their quest, for Commander Dante races to lead his Blood Angels – and countless other Imperial forces – to the coming battle.

For all these grand events, none can compare to the return of a demigod long thought lost to the annals of legend. Lion El’Jonson, Primarch of the Dark Angels, has awoken, and by strange paths has returned to aid the Imperium in its darkest hour. Will the Lion triumph, or will the champions of Chaos unleash a new and nightmarish force upon the galaxy?

  1. Vault = A pocket of webway space that's been pinched off from the rest and can't be gotten to via a gate?

A sequel book on the Eldar failing to contain a Chaos Corrupted War in Heaven Webway boring planet; rifling through the webway in search of a pocket of toys like an alien chestburster rummaging about someone's guts.. all the while the dark angles murder hoboing in it's wake.. sounds cool

  2. Yeah there's people harking onto the fact that Corteaz knows of the DA's secret and everything but I'm overe here asking myself where the god damn Eldar and especially the Necrons are

Like it's the time for ancient fallen empire precursor races to do ancient fallen empire precursor stuff, where the hell are they?!

Especially the Necrons cause they've been made to be the big bad of 9th but didn't actually do much. Silent King didn't even show up properly

  3. Calling for a big machine faction clash in 10th

Vashtorr/DarkMech/IW vs Admech/IH vs LoV vs Necrons fighting over the Lock. Some the IH and IW are just there as SM and CSM candy

  4. Interesting detail for Vashtorr. He asked the AI on the AdMech world for consent and whether it wants to help him, same now with the Engine. He recognizes certain machines that are powerful enough as their own being, a rare thing in 40k

  5. Since they mentioned a primarch returning with each chaos dub, I’m thinking that whatever Vashtorr and Abbadon do the Khan might come back in the future because of all the webway shenanigans?

  6. Yeah, the galaxy needs a really good villain.
One who can win often enough to be threatening.
One who wants to eradicate all other sapient life in the universe.
One who takes every planet they touch and turn it into a dystopian hellscape.
They should probably be run by an unjust power structure like a monarchy or something.
Yep if only the world of 40k had something like that.

  7. I feel as if they added the Korks or whatever they were named back into the setting threw some way, like if the one in the necron museum got out someway, I feel like it could make the orcs more of a player since the last time they appeared they dramatically it dramatically changed the orcs for the better and made them more competent although sadly it doesn’t last for long
