The guitar solo effect Jimmy used is called an Octaver.
Sending prayers Nick!
I believe the inspiration for this song came from them watching the 1978 World Cup, which was in Argentina. They were inspired by the Latin Samba rhythms that they heard.
Sending up prayers for Nick ๐
Keep fighting, Nick. You got this!
Nick Bro….. Best of luck fighting that Cancer. I am currently awaiting treatment for my fourth tumor, fortunately mine is very easily treatable but it is still hard to live with at times. Sending positive thoughts your way….
Unfortunately their worst album, I remember the day it was released in 79 and this was played on the radio non stop.
I was like"wtf is this?"
Did not like it at all.
I grown to like it, but it's nowhere near the previous 8.
Not saying it's a bad album per se, but comparatively.
But to each their own.
Get better, Nick!
Rambling on? Funny.
All the best, Nick – Live and Love ….and kick cancer's ass!
They just kept reinventing themselves โฆ..constantly evolving
Bonzo is an absolute BEAST on this song ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
Check out Hot Dog
Led Zeppelin were nothing if not versatile. They took a real beating from the critics when the album this came from came out and although it's far from being my favourite of their's, it's not a bad album in my opinion.
Superb track, even if the ' critics' panned the whole album. Keep looking into them, as Zep will surprise you at every turn. Bron – Y – Aur Stomp, That's The Way, Gallows Pole, Friends, and not forgetting the mighty Kashmir !! Best wishes Nick.
One of my favorites from the Zep! The "In Through the Out Door" record also has a country song from Zeppelin called "Hot Dog".
I waited for the record store to open so I could buy this album when it was released. At the time i was very disappointed but this album fits in their whole repertoire. Great reaction
We love ya,Nick! Stay strong Zeppelin, friend. โ๏ธโค๏ธ
This one is at the top of the list for many, with regards to the "best Bonham beats."
This was more Robert Plant idea listen to a Robert Plant song when he went solo it's a lot like this.
Jimmy Page and Robert Plant where buying heads I'm where they wanted to go and credits hated this album.
No it was never performed because I didn't think they had any concerts after this album
๐ฅ
Best wishes Nick ๐
Much love Nick
Prayers for you Nick
Another upbeat fun banger from that album is "Hot Dog". Check it out!
I thought that maybe I hadn't heard this Led Zeppelin track, but I have. Nick, you can beat this, my hope is that you do!
Carouselambra.
Keep fighting, Nick! We're all praying for you!
Sending โคand healing your way Nick!!
Prayers to Nick ๐๐ค๐โค๏ธ
Sending prayers to u Nick and please find the strength to beat this disease. This song is my favorite Led Zeppelin song, so also thank you for recommending this one.
I donโt think Zeppelin ever played this live
But Dave Matthewโs Band does.
Great choice, one of my favorites. Sending positive thoughts and prayers to Nick. Keep Fighting!!!
Prayers and love for you, Nick!! Stay Strong!
Zeppelin having fun with their art, absolutely. They have a song called Hotdog ๐ญ
Oh on the song plant big fan of Elvis Presley's is channeling his inner Elvis, you can tell very well and this the weirdest Zeppelin EP they had different covers and subtle meaning in songs all of my love is plants son who died in 75 it's on this album great great song banger as Phil would say
๐๐๐ For you Nick!
One of the best drum grooves of all time. The Bonham shuffle!
Stay strong Nick. Our ๐prayers๐ are with you
Prayers for Nick! ๐๐ป๐๐ป๐๐ป
To Nick … Great request! A big thumbs up! (And thank you for the reaction).
This was the last album of Zeppelin and Plant's voice had changed a lot. He could no longer sing like he did early on so this was basically his new voice. Years of smoking, drinking and singing while sick along with some surgeries changed his sound a lot. By a certain point he couldn't go up high with any kind of power liked he used to. They started in '68 and even by '72 his voice was quite different.
God bless you bro, ger well soon.๐
Alleged;y this album was written largely by JPJ and Plant, as Bonham was deeply in his bottle and Page was deep into his heroin addiction. It is also alleged Bonham and Page hated it.
Personally, I think is is among their best, both as to their playing and musically. Bonham is certainly at the top of his game in this.
Great pick Nick. Keep up the good fight and get well!
I had just graduated HS and heard the announcement they were cancelling this tour due to John Bonham's death.
Love that shuffle! And who doesn't like the polyrhythm and the samba part?
Robert said he got the idea for the song from the music that was being played during highlights of the world cup that was being held in South America at the time
Good luck Nick
False never performed
Thereโs a great isolated drum track of this on YT. The Purdie Shuffle. Popularized by the legendary Bernard Purdie. Other songs using it around the same time, with Bernard drumming included Home at Last and Babylon Sisters by Steely Dan and Rosanna by Toto.
Led Zep can play ANYTHING at an elite level, because they are all master musicians.
