"Great job guys! You went out there and played your a$$es off and beat one of the best teams in the league! And now … we're going to give up! We just traded away Danielle Hunter for a second round pick."
Yeah, if you do that, you might as well just can KOC at that point. The team wouldn't believe in him again after that.
Lol…Coller pipe dreams…Vikings were never getting Caleb Williams or Drake Maye…Cousins will ALWAYS get his teams to at least the middle of the pack…with or without Hunter…
Nothing seems to matter until Mark and Zygi decide a Super Bowl victory means more than annual provides/current team value. While it's a blast that the Vikings actually showed up for a nationally-televised game, not much has changed. Even when Kirk played the greatest game Boomer Esiason has ever seen, a couple better decisions (or pass executions) by Brock Purdy and with one touchdown the 49ers win that game. If that had occurred, the narrative might very well have been the QB's inability to apply an ounce of finesse on any of his goal line passes, or how he continues to throw checkdowns in the 2-minute drill that cost the team time and/or time outs in critical moments. Instead we were treated to an incredible play by Jordan Addison resulting in a stat-padding 60 additional yards plus a touchdown instead of what should have been an interception (and another failed 2-minute drill with momentum and the opening Q3 possession on the 49ers side)… This is ultimately a "make it or break it" moment for Kwesi. If he protects his job and safely falls in line with the traditional ownership thinking, he will surely achieve a "reasonable rate of return" that makes the Wilfs wealthier and US Bank Stadium available for January concerts and other non-football events.
No, the over reaction was wanting to dismantle the team after some self inflicted losses. The Vikings have been competitive all season, nobody has rolled over them and made them look bad. The losses last season were blowout losses, and it felt as though the Vikings were outmatched in those blowouts. This season we haven't seen that. This team is competitive, this could be the team that actually just needs to make the playoffs. Skol Vikings!!!!
That’s the Cousins they thought they were getting in 2018. Wisdom says to watch as this season goes. Approach this thing with both eyes open and not on emotions.
A bit of an overreaction, yes. It was one win and we all know the saying: Any given Sunday. It was a great win and the Vikes balled out. IMO the greatest thing about the win was that the Niners actually played pretty well, so it wasn't like they helped the Vikings win. But people are now saying, "Hey, they can go 6-0 over the next six games and they're right back in it!" Uh-huh. That's pretty much how every losing team can look at it. A 6-0 run isn't impossible, but it is extremely difficult — no matter their schedule. I certainly hope for the best, though. I think we can be thrilled they played well, but let's not be putting the Vikes in the Super Bowl quite yet. I would like to draft a high prospect at QB this next draft as much as the next guy, but not over winning now. Always cheer for your team to win. Losers cheer for their team to lose.
If the Vikings make the playoffs, they will re-sign Cousins. I don’t think the Wilfs are willing to go through the type of season it would take to draft a top QB.
Are we overreacting? Sort of.. all these fans that wanted Kirks head on a stake are all wanting to extend him after 1 game.. let's not go Superbowl or bust so fast. Stack some more wins
I think GB is in a pretty good spot, actually. They ARE going to be in the mix for a top QB in the upcoming draft. As well as the Bears. We could possibly be playing against 2 pro bowl QBs from those two teams for years to come. We'll certainly be the odd team out. I think the Vikings are in the worst position in the division. They are literally in no-man's land when it comes to QB. Kirk or not to Kirk, that is the question. The Vikes also won't be in a position to draft one of the best QBs in 2024. That's rough. If they re-sign Kirk, he'll get a king's ransom and it'll just put off any type of rebuild yet another year. Putting off the rebuild always seems to be they do. We always end up drafting in a poor position but not having anything to show for it as far as wins are concerned.
I’d rather watch them try and win like on Monday night and play hard. It’s way more fun and it was nice seeing the crabby complaining fans not in the comment sections this past week complaining about the team or Kirk. Honestly makes being a fan a miserable experience for a lot of us. I understand wanting the team to be better and everyone has a different view of that but there’s a portion of the teams fan base that really drags the franchise down
It's a moot point now, but why have people kept talking about Kirks no trade clause like it's ironclad? Like it's our kryptonite and there's nothing the Vikings can do about it? If the Vikings decided the season was over and they wanted to sell everything that wasn't nailed down, they could easily get Kirk to waive the NTC by simply telling him Hall was going to start the rest of the year so we can find out if we need to draft a QB next year. Kirk isn't stupid enough to ride the bench in a contract year.
We could also trade him wherever we wanted, to whoever gave us the best deal. We don't need his permission and we don't need to take a worse deal just to make sure him and his family are comfortable. We owe him absolutely nothing. We paid him a quarter of a billion dollars for 2 playoff appearances in 6 years, and one playoff win.
Are you telling me the Vikings aren't willing to play hardball to do what's best for the franchise? Would we really let him pad his stats in a year he helped ruin, auditioning for his next employer? And people think this regime is going to lead us to a championship? They couldn't even fire Ed Donatell last year even though they knew he was going to ruin their 13 win season. I'm blown away that nobody will even consider using that kind of leverage against Kirk to do what's best for the franchise.

Vikings fans always overreact
You don’t play a season for draft position, you play to get into the tournament. Once there, anything can happen.
Trap game…coming

If they lose to the Packers this weekend, sell, sell, sell. If they win this weekend, buy, buy buy!
The fact that this question is asked means we already have a good indication about the realistic answer.
Minnesotans know this changes nothing with the vikings… good win though

I hate this teams middling trophies and how everyone keeps buying into the same old typical outcomes
"As a fan isn't this what you want?" 😅 omg NO…not at all…another lame ass first or second rd loss….NO NO NO NO…please God no more of this bs

Purdy threw the game.
Osborn and Addison and the refs bailed out Cousins.
As well as the Vikings played they were very lucky that the Niners blew it.
