  1. So all I got from Deathshroud is pray the opponent doesn't Rapid Ingress them. If he doesn't then put all the Basilisk shots I can into them to, hopefully, score a hit and bring their threat range down to 7".

  2. Scarabs are objectively meh. They don't see competitive play for good reason. The transition from 9th to 10th was extremely rough on them. In 9th, they were Obsec, ranged Ap-2, and melee S5 in an edition were Toughness realistically capped at 8 or 9(so they were wounding the toughest things in the game on 5's at worst in melee) and most elite infantry was T4-5.

In 10th, they are only OC1, ranged Ap-1 in an edition with omnipresent Cover(so basically back down to Ap0), and melee S5 with the majority of Toughness values being stretched(elite infantry like Terminators/Gravis/Custodes/Meganobs/Possessed/Eightbound/Paragon Warsuits/etc all went up in Toughness value in 10th, as well of course as all vehicles/monsters). For a 38ppm hybrid shooting/melee bruiser unit, they spend way too much of their time having to wound on 5's or 6's this edition.

With their current datasheet, I wouldn't touch the unit with a barge pole unless it dropped at least another 20pts.

  3. The reason why Death Guard’s Deathshroud Terminators are so great is they’re so cheap, because there’s only 3 of them in a min squad. They’re basically tougher Assault Terms with BOTH the Thunder Hammer and Lightning Claw profiles in one! At 110 points, you auto-include a DG Term character for 70-85 points, putting them at 180-195 pts, comparable to a squad of 5 Assault Terms. The 4 DG Terms’ stats and abilities more than make up for the missing 5th Term.

Aside from a Dark Angels Deathwing detachment, I don’t recall seeing ANY army with 3 character-led squads of Terminators, whereas Death Guard armies do it ALL THE TIME.

If SM players could take Terminators in min squads of 3 for ~100 points, we’d definitely see MORE Terminators!

  4. While they aren't the optimal pick I feel like 10 World Eater Terminators is actually a really scary Alpha strike pick. With Lord Invocatus he can point at them for scout 6" as they are infantry and with your +2" movement and possibly even advance+charge you are talking about a 6+5+2+D6 or 6 (if you want to spend a cp for auto 6) so you are dealing with a 13/14-19" + 2D6 threat range and just being locked up in your deployment zone turn 1.

  5. Blightlord terminators just flat can't be fixed with points without making them a stat check unit when u run 30 of them, there data sheet is just flat bad, would love to see them get a better ability the 2 handed flail needs to go up a str and an ap… and something needs to happen to there survivability or they need more melee damage as right now they just get bullied by probably all the other terminators in the game

  6. For me, an easy solution to make generic terminators more appealing is an extra attack. 3 just isn't enough to reliably threaten anything and, for the supposed elite of the chapter, it does feel a bit on the low side especially given intercessors get the same amount (albeit lower quality)
