This week we chat about the incoming drop of 10th edition and some of the rules that are currently out. As a Death Guard player Geoff leads us through some of the “interesting” choices being made for the faction.

The Deathleaper reminds me of D&D mindflayers
Oh man, hearing the stories from Geoff is great fun!
Peachy really looks tired (1:45' to get the 7+3=10 plague marines). Seem that heatwave doesn't do less damage in the UK 😉 Hang on bro!
I think when codexs come out certain forces will get certain heresy units
UKGE pro tip: the food trucks outside the Hilton are way better than the NEC or Resorts World food.
Great ep ! Love a mix of guests and just the three of you
"Guant's ghosts and the weirdo pirates" should be the next in the series
I loved when the penny dropped for peachy over the 3 death guard and he tapped Jeff to tell him exactly what Jeff had just finished saying like he just came up with it, hilarious. I love you peachy never change ❤ great show guys and just proving again to everyone that you don't always need a guest to be entertaining. You 3 are Lighting in a bottle. Keep it up lads!
I mean Genestealers have always been in units of 10 and the box has 8…
So I am Irish, and a Republican, and as much as I really like Geoff and he seems like a great bloke I've always been a bit iffy when he has talked about his time in NI as there is a lot of bad blood and painful memories of that time in this country.
But his comments on the Paras have quite turned me around, for context they did some bad shit in their time (and mostly haven't been held accountable) so hearing him say he did not associate with them has put me more at ease with him.
28:12 a 2000pt army cost 2000pts, obviously! Poor hammer has a great video about this – apparently there are 5 armies that can be fielded for under $500US, the under £500 club is much larger, closer to 10 with UK prices
ye Death Guard look so disappointing in 10th… so far. I've got my first game this week and tournament next week so we'll see how they do
Death Guard need to WAIT MORE THAN A YEAR for their codex!!!
As an ex Matelot, I could listen to Geoffs Pongo stories for hours
Geoff " We put paid to that, we did!" LOL I love his stories
The Painting Phest!
Guard does get a 5+ FNP. It’s from the Krieg marshal. Combine him with a psyker for a 4+ invuln and get to be more durable than nurgle
lol there was a similar thing with Woses in MESBG: the old metal mould makes Ghan Buri Ghan and 12 Woses but if you take the Paths of the Druadan Legion you have to take Ghan and a full warband of Woses with his warband size being 15…
The 7 plague marines pers box to keep myself saine I have to keep thinking I get two extra per box for different weapons. Edit: Yup loved trading stuff for little things like that when I was in the US Army. Was very much a fun hobby to get something neat to show you have been there and help relations between forces.
Best episode yet- can we have more books and forces discussion
Me and the missus still joke about the big train ross kemp skits ‘I could see it was about to kick off…’
I fell for DG when 7th was a thing and we had no codex, just an add on to CSM. I fell for the lore, The internal battle between Morty and Typhon (his OG name) and then the blessings of Nurgle and how this changed the army.
Its crazy how in Horus Heresy, DG have a 5+ FNP (4+ once a game with added bonuses) what's changed in 10k years? more so when so many other models have a FNP.
the -1 T doesn't mean much in this Ed when a lot of models have additional toughness, mainly vehicles.
We lost the rules that make DG…DG. A slow moving tide of the inevitable death, unrelenting. moving and shooting with no penalty while the enemy believe their most accurate of fire is simply ignored. As the enemy stand and watch the slow cloud of flies move in….
What happened?!
As someone who only plays Age of Sigmar, most of this episode sound like "blah blah blah lasguns". BUT, still enjoyed it! You'll need a guest on to nerd out about AoS with to balance it out!
Great show guys, as an ex crab I love hearing Geoff spin dit's, had the pleasure of briefly meeting him at the UKGE & even got pegged by him 😉
I think those three plague marines Geoff was talking about are from the Conquest magazine. I seem to remember that was three.
As someone who really liked the Death Guard codex in 9th I am not a happy girl, as someone who likes using the Heresy kits and moved her Blood Angels to be more Horus Heresy themed I am not a happy girl, so might as well just continue with my ultramarine project no way will that be ruined, but all in all this chat show kinda shows the better side of this hobby which is friends having a laugh and that's the important bit
In Horus Heresy Legions Valdor is Yaaarkshire. "Eh up, it is t'Imperial Fist Primarch. How do young Dorn?"
My absolute favorite 40k books (except from Eisenhorn of course) is the Fabius Bile trilogy starting with Primogenitor, they are fantastic, best books about chaos space marines such a shame that Josh Reynolds doesn’t write for Black Library anymore. Also Lords of Silence is great, really shows how vast and ignorant the Imperium is, we as players know about all the factions but for most citizens of the Imperium even chaos space marines are just scary stories and believed not to be real at all.
Racing events with minis on spoons
I am hopeful. Thank you for having this discussion.

Yes. Right now, they really are that bad.
I feel like a whole podcast series could be done on Geoff's Sons reactions to 80s movies! 😂
Just thought id say that the famous commando knife is called a fairbairn-sykes fighting knife. It was designed by two combat instructors from WWII.
So if you're saying tor garadon is a Yorkshireman, does that mean we get Sean Bean as Rogal Dorn?
More and more of Geoffs background coming out, so Im guessing Irish Guards then RIR?
Faugh A Ballagh!
The Deathguard 7 man squads are supposed to be a nod to Papa Nurgle, so I dont kniw where they got this multiples of 5 from, hope they sort that out as it breaks the narrative.
Glad someone else knows the word "nobble"!
What about a 40k version of Dads army?
Jeff…! American accent was nailed my man lol. Cheers from the States – please keep up the great content folks!
16:20 Peach's Reaction to that info is just the best
