The Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby will not take his annual Christmas Day sermon this year and will officially stand down on 6 January after resigning following the Makin review.
This year’s service, the Festal Eucharist, will instead come from the Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell at York Minster cathedral.
