Animals Asia rescues two moon bears from 20 years on a bile farm

Bonnie and Clyde’s journey to freedom begins today.

After two decades trapped in rusty cages with nothing to do, nothing to play with, not even anything to look at, two more moon bears were freed from the terrible bear bile farming industry by Animals Asia today.

They were given delicious, fresh food – probably for the first time in their lives – and their physical health was assessed by our vet staff.

Although they both have ailments that will need addressing once back at sanctuary, and Bonnie is displaying signs of stress and fear, they are fit enough to make the long journey home.

The journey will be a long one, with regular stops so our team can feed, hydrate and talk to the bears to keep them as comfortable and calm as possible.

We will update you next week when the team arrives home, and Bonnie and Clyde start their new lives where they will be loved and cared for forever.

Thank you to everyone who supported Bonnie and Clyde on their big day, it truly means the world to them and to us.
