Andrew Bolt blasts Labor over its ‘ruinous push’ to make Australians buy EVs

Sky News host Andrew Bolt has blasted the Albanese government over its “ruinous push” to make Australians buy electric cars.

“There’s got to be an easier way to deal with our failing power system,” Mr Bolt said.

“How about we just stop the Albanese government’s ruinous push to make us buy electric cars rather than petrol ones?

“Right now, we have just under 200,000 EVs on our roads. But worse, under the government’s plans to force us to buy more, we should have anything up to two million EVs by 2030.

“That’s going to take a hell of a lot of electricity that we don’t have.

“Isn’t that going to make blackouts even more likely?”

  1. Vehicle to Grid has been an idea around for at least 10 years. Originally meant for voltage support in times of system contingency. This takes it to level of dumb…sorry

  2. The Cobalt that is used in EV batteries has a 75 percent chance of being mined in the DR Congo. Of that, some of that might come from children working in artisanal mines for $2 USD a day.

  5. The sad truth about all this is people still vote for ALP / Greens. They are moving towards a Socialist Communist state where the government controls EVERYTHING and EVERYONE !! Cashless society so the government will control your funds. Excessively high taxes, so no one can afford anything. No sustainable and reliable energy so no manufacturing industries will survive. No reliable vehicles so no one can afford to go anywhere in a Country, outside major cities, vehicles are essential.

  10. Hi Andrew. Remember that "D-head" 'Chief Scientist' that claimed Australia urgently needed desalination plants. The reason he claimed was because Australia's future rainfall would be so impacted by 'global warming' that rainfall would in future be so diminished, that this 'future rainfall' would be insufficient to create run-off to replenish water storage in dams. Sydney spent about billion dollars to build its desalination plant on the shores of Botany Bay. It's now basically in 'moth-balls' due to rainwater runoff being so plentiful that Sydney's Warragamba dam has overflowed fives times since this D-head Academic-Idiot (with an agenda of his own), the Chief Scientist no less, made his dire 'calculations'.
