*Anakin’s Symphonies*
The Star Wars saga tells the epic tale of Anakin Skywalker, a prophesied prodigy who rises from slavery to Jedi Knighthood, only to fall to the Dark Side and become Darth Vader. His betrayal of the Jedi marks a tragic downfall, but his story does not end in darkness. His son’s journey mirrors yet contrasts that of his father —where Anakin succumbs, Luke resists. Through unwavering belief in his father’s goodness, Luke becomes the key to Anakin’s redemption, allowing him to fulfill his destiny as the Chosen One and restore balance to the Force.
John Williams masterfully captured this sweeping tale across both trilogies with his scores for each of the six films in the George Lucas saga. I have compiled the music in a way that brings Anakin’s entire journey to the forefront—his rise, fall, and ultimate redemption. The music is divided into movements that highlight the defining moments of his life, from his early dreams to his darkest choices and, finally, his return to the light.
This is essentailly an extended edition of my previous videos since I wanted to include more music from each of the films, which I either did not think about including or that I decided to leave out the first time around in order to keep it more focused. I hope you enjoy listening!

*The First Symphony*
The first three movements explore _The Phantom Menace,_ examining whether Anakin’s role as the Chosen One is a matter of destiny or fate. They also reveal the Republic’s vulnerabilities and Palpatine’s schemes, whose far-reaching consequences set the stage for the Republic’s eventual downfall.
*Movement I: Anakin’s Destiny*
Anakin’s life, dictated by prophecy, sees him rise from slavery to a Jedi, marked by selflessness and talent. His triumph in the podrace earns him freedom, but at the cost of leaving his mother behind. The path to becoming a Jedi demands sacrifice, setting his destiny on an uncertain course.

Anakin’s early innocence is reflected in the peaceful nature of the music, with Anakin’s Theme as the central motif. Subtle hints of The Imperial March emerge, becoming more apparent toward the end, foreshadowing his fate. An epic section marks his podrace victory, symbolizing the triumph that earns his freedom. The Force Theme underscores his role as the Chosen One, while Qui-Gon’s Theme reflects the Jedi Master’s guidance. Brief appearances of Luke’s Theme and Yoda’s Theme hint at their future significance in Anakin’s journey.

Hello there! I decided to go back over my initial series of videos and expand each movement to capture more of John Williams amazing score. Since each movement is now much longer, I have decided to release them one at a time and will hopefully publish a new one each Thursday. With this movement I was most excited to add in Qui Gon’s Theme (8:22 | 11:06) which I think is an underappreciated character theme in the saga. What do you think :)?
