  1. Thank you for sharing this beautiful movie of selflessness. This is what the body of Christ should look like. This movie warmed my heart. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone and May your homes be filled abundantly with joy, peace, prosperity and most of all the love of Christ in Jesus mighty name, Amen!

  2. This is the movie I wanted to see just before Thanksgiving. I noticed the resemblance to 'Little Women', and surprise, surprise, it was written by Louisa May Alcott. Thanks for sharing this wonderful "old fashioned" movie with us all.

  3. Well done!!!!!! It brought to mind the strife between strong women in families and how they relate to one another even when there is love between them. Nothing like two Alfa hens in a coup let alone three!!!!! The lovely Jaqueline Bisset never grows old. I remember her in the movie The Deep so many years ago. We should remember people change and learn, well at least some do and for the better. Wars, epidemics, The Great Depression, famines, hard Winters brought out a strong will to survive, in some to unite, to push through to the other side where so many could no longer go.

  4. Mathilda Bassett (Tilly) praying over the dinner:
Thanks for the roses by the wayside.
Thanks for thorns their stems contain.
Thanks for home and thanks for fireside.
Thanks for hope, that sweet refrain. Amen.

  5. There is another movie that continues the story of her going abroad with her grandmother. It is called an old fashioned Christmas. Some of the original actors/actresses are in it. I enjoyed it well enough but the first one is the best. If they made another one, I would like to see it where she comes home and gets married and what she does with her life and the outcome of her siblings.

  6. Beautiful. Family is family regardless of differences and disappointments. We all live by grace, faith, and hope, and need to embrace love and a thankful heart with the ones we love and who love us.

  7. I would’ve appreciated a sequel to this movie.
How wonderful would it be to have a mature beautiful woman return fr abroad to her little town, full of culture n charm. Their wedding the talk of the town. Maybe a female rival has been attempting to muscle in on her beau. Her sister is much older n has a child? Maybe n her brother is older n has decided to be like his dad n will work the fields as his thanksgiving spirit showed he was the man of the house.

Even a sequel movie of all of her adventures n the people especially young men that she meets from many countries that she’s interested in??

  8. Those were trying yet beautiful times when people genuinely care about one another’s wellbeing. I loved the lovely vintage dresses, hats and burnt out shawls very classy. The main cast consist of charming looking people. The whole story line was well narrated and everyone did a great job of acting even the little ones. This movie was very pleasant to watch, good for the soul with great moral values to live by. Thank You for sharing, God bless you and keep you safe in Jesus Name Amen 🙏 😊

  9. Found this boring and predictable parts are borrowed from Little Women: right down to the Scarlet fever and giving away their holiday feast to a poor family, again with scarlet fever

  10. What a heart warming, charming, wholesome movie! Hélène Joy was excellent, she's an amazing actress we have loved as Dr Julia in Murdock Mysteries and as always, Ms. Bisset was brilliant. Thank you for showing this gem!!!
