An Island Story: 31 Men and a Woman for 7 Years

What happens when a woman and 31 men are stranded on an uninhabited and inaccessible island for 7 years may sound like a movie scenario. However, this really happened during World War II. The story begins when a Japanese ship is hit by American missiles and 31 men are forced to take refuge on the island. Since most of the men are young and healthy, they survive the missiles. However, there is one surprise among them: Kazuo Higa.
The men compete to protect and marry Kazuo, and in the process there are murders and jealous rages. The struggle for survival on the island begins with a shortage of food and resources, and even gets more complicated when handmade weapons come into play. In the process, 11 men killed each other. Another man even attempted to assassinate Kazuko, thinking she was the problem.
When the war subsided in 1951, with American help, the remaining 20 men and Kazuko were evacuated from the island.
