  1. She was 10 at this point, ( 19 now) There is a video clip of the interview with the presenters, before she sang, but there are no subtitles, so I wouldn't go looking for it , unless you are Dutch fluent.
She included this song on her first cd, recorded when 9, and it is a little longer there. I think she had to cut it for the TV show. The version of her singing this song which grabs most attention, and has had millions of views, is called Live in concert – Nella Fantasia. 2016, when Amira was 12, backed by a full orchestra, she really belts it out, and, following a substantial introduction, sings three verses. It's worth watching if you haven't seen it before.
The music is Ennio Morricone's film piece known as Gabriel 's Oboe. They give it a different name when lyrics are added.
Always nice to hear it, great tune.

  2. Great reaction Roskoe! Amira was 10 years here!. In 2016 Amira sang this song again in South Africa and knocked it out of the park! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_WyjEj5DW8

    In My Fantasy

In my imagination I see a fair world,

Everyone lives in peace and in honesty there.

I dream of souls that are always free,

    Like the clouds that fly,

Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

In my imagination I see a bright world,

Even the night is less dark there.

I dream of souls that are always free,

    Like clouds that fly.

In my imagination there exists a warm wind,

That breathes on the cities, like a friend.

I dream of souls that are always free,

    Like clouds that fly,

Full of humanity in the depths of the soul.

  3. Great reaction! In this video, Amira wasn't singing with a live orchestra. Sopranos don't sing with recorded instruments. Sopranos lead the orchestra and the conductor, because sopranos have the artistic freedom to prolong notes as much as they want and/or can, for example. Putting a soprano in a situation where she, live, has to adapt to a recording is cruel and the result is always artistically bad, especially when using a fast recording and a mediocre microphone. That's why Amira always does her best with a full orchestra, a full choir and, consequently, a large audience. That's where she can shine. This is the territory of the soprano, especially super sopranos like Amira.
