Can you do Father's Day Electrician's Fighting with Dad? It is one of his shorter fast paced videos but it is a very helpful PSA.
Geronimo is the most based beaver of all time, a true adrenaline junkie that loves being deployed in a box from a plane. Who knew beavers enjoyed being airborne.
"Why did things get so complicated?"
One word answer: Government.
Also the quote is "Hard times make strong men, strong men make good times, good times make weak men, weak men make hard times."
You asked a very interesting question and even though I'd seen the original video and 1 other reaction, I didn't even think of it until you asked. Did a little digging and If you enlisted day after Pearl Harbor and separated Sep 7 1945 (pretty much immediately after Japan surrendered) you would have made roughly $5000, which would be about $90K in today's money. This assumed 14 months (the only non-battlefield anecdote I could find indicated grandpa went from E1-E6 in 14 months, and then I calculated pay from there.) Military would have provided shelter and food, but this assumes you didn't spend ANY on booze, etc. which is unlikely but it would depend.
"The Angry Beavers" was a Nickelodeon cartoon which ran from 1997 through 2001 and centered around brother beavers Norbert and Daggett who have left the family dam to make their own way independently. It follows them on their misadventures while trying to 'adult'. It was cute for its time.
Geronimo really was a truly Airborne. Got his jumo wings, did 12 combat jumps, and then spent the rest of his time chasing some beaver. The 82nd shoulda made him an honorary member.😂
