  1. Wait…this is AMERICAN Truck Simulator, and yet they spell the irrefutably correct American “Tires” as the red coat abomination that is the British “Tyres”?! 0/10, worst game of the year.

  2. The only reason I bought my big fuss about nothing AKA PC. was Rome Total War and Euro Truck Sim 2. I put LOTR audio books on and drive from Britain to Russia and back. The American one will put you to sleep it's all straight roads.

  3. They called him Big Jon, as he passed through chasing carnage across the Mojave delivering essential supplies to those that can trawl the ditches. Some say he is a legend, others a myth. One thing is sure though… he's a bloody menace!

  4. As a former truck driver, I expected there might be some wrinkles here: and Jon, you did not disappoint. 10/10, would absolutely pay you to drive for any one of my competitors.

As I think about it, I realize that I have just answered the question all those years ago, playing the original GTA: "Who in the WORLD is paying these 'insane stunt bonuses'?"

  5. You can use 2 lanes to turn, not 3, and indicating helps.
Also, Americans can turn right on a red light, when it is safe to do so.
It kills a lot of pedestrians, but its good for cars and one of the major complaints about red light cameras.

  6. Gonna be nerding out a bit since AZ is my home state and just posting thoughts:

5:30 Jon the wonderful (terrible) thing about driving in the us is that you can turn right on red in most states

10:34 it is….actually astounding how accurate they got the view of that route, holy shit

  7. You gave my partner a heart attack and now she is yelling at me for the next 20 minutes about proper truck driving. We are only 15 minutes into your video. Love your videos, please don't every drive a truck.

  8. "Should you not just have a driver on staff" You should, Jon, yes. But trucking is one of those industries where many businesses use a model of hiring "independent contractors" and never hiring staff. That way they can demand illegally long work hours without offering benefits because those problems can technically be blamed on the "contractor" (cough: employee).

  9. So, Jon. Trucking companies don't like keeping people on staff because there are legal ramifications for that. By keeping the people who drive for them under "independent contractor" status, they can bypass labor laws and treat them in ways that would be illegal for an employer/employee relationship.
