Awesome, these "Lifesavers" are saving Ukrainian soldiers, so cool and even air conditioned! So expensive to transport!! 😥 (Hope we have some left for our guys!) 👍😁
Bushmaster are now in urikarine
I drive both the bushmaster and its little brother the hawkei. When I go out bush my maintenance variant bushmaster is literally my home and I live comfortably for being in the middle of the Australian bush for up to a couple of months at a time. The maintenance variant even has a crane, full toolbox, workbench, awning and is the only version capable of towing a trailer to carry extra maintenance equipment to keep our guys going.
The way the vehicle is designed it can easily be stripped out and be refitted to bring it up to modern standards so I wouldn't expect these being auctioned off anytime soon. You can actually change a complete engine in a bushmaster is the field in just over an hour.
My brother in law worked at Thales and was an engineer on bushmaster and hawkei. (You need to check out the hawkei if you want off road armoured trucks) they are awesome purses of kit I’ve had the opportunity to ride in a bushmaster and a hawkei and they are just top notch
No armoured vehicles are allowed to be sold in Tasmania for road use at least in Tasmania Australia
Very Cool 😎 video
The first Bushmaster was built IN 1997, Yes 25 years ago and has had upgrades but the shape hasn't changed much. Was rated the best defence vehicle in in catigory, then and still holds that title today. Cost $1-2.5m aud
They were used my the Ukrainian 80th air assault brigade during the Kharkiv offensive
The Australian Government has recently sent Bushmasters to Ukraiane.
The Australian "Hawkie" is the equivalent to the JLTV.
U into big awesome..Bush??
U look like a bushmaster by the looks of that goatee..am i correct??
In Australia large military vehicles are not available for public purchase. After their expired time they are sold or gifted to so called 3rd class countries.
Ukraine received new Bushmasters.
Look up the Thales Hawkei, more akin to the Oshkosh JLTV 👍
Australian soldier here .
I have driven the bushmaster for years and although I'm biased, I do believe it is the best built MRAP in its class. A fully protected drive line, secondary fuel tank and run flat tyres, 10T winch , in cabin drinking water system just to name a few of the excellent features. I can't speak for current times given we have donated around 40-50 units to ukraine and information isn't out there yet on destroyed units. But before this conflict no one had ever died due to a hull breach from IEDs. The only recorded death was a Dutch soldier getting struck in the head from a loose ammo liner sitting in the back seat adjacent from the ammo compartment. The example seen in the video isn't quite what are used in the units but it's about 85% of what we use in the army. Truely an awesome vehicle to drive and a privilege.
I was a machinist at Thales in Bendigo where these are made.Theres also a Ute that can carry 4.5 ton
US army wanted to buy the Bushmaster after seeing it. American lobbyist stopped the purchase and insisted on an American designed vehicle, hence the Osh Kosh. It took years to get the Osh Kosh in the field and by the time it was ready the wars were winding down. Many soldiers died in the defunct Humvee. So sad. Australia buys tens of billions in US equipment every year. Greed stopped the purchase of Australian equipment, and many soldiers died needlessly.
Bushmasters, badass to the bone. If you like the bushy take a look at the Hawkeye pmv.🤠👍🇦🇺
not sure its a 100% true, apparently there will be a version for use during nuclear fallout protection
Proven rather easy targets for Russian drones. How sad, too bad, never mind
They’re still operational.
Australian govt will never allow armoured vehicles to be sold to individuals.
– perhaps specialist organisations, such as the present fire variant, but not to individuals.
Retired general purpose vehicles from the military tactical fleet that are suitable for civilian registration are on-sold tho
that's right we aussies make good cars
Australia is introducing the Hawkie vehicles .https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawkei
Great vehicles but still vulnerable to cannon fire and missiles. If they keep more troops alive than dead in the long run they are worth it.
