We tested 21 CPUs in this round of CPU testing to see whether or not the new 9000 series CPUs from AMD are worth it… spoiler… they aren’t.

Not sure why the chapters arent showing up, but anyway they are in the description.
Also regarding PBO, turning on PBO for the 9950X actually HURTS performance. Several other content creators I spoke with prior to launch saw this same behavior. Its also an overclock that kills your CPU warranty (still not sure how they would know) so no, not showing it.
Just an observation 11:28 you read the score 35129, for the 13900k, that was the 7950x3d score ✌️
Fair play for the decent title.
Saved me watching 27 minutes of video I'd never get back.
Mate… shorten your videos.
You are REALLY good… but F me life is too short … ❤❤❤ … and I'd rather watch Jennifer Lawrence for half an hour 😂
Been skipping building a PC for years now and it seems to be getting worse. Are people sure competition is good because it doesn't look like it to me. Intel or AMD…. none at the moment.
Then we got burning cards or overly expensive. Or cheaper cards but they come with problems.
Then we go other brands and components who like to charge you for something you never sent it in for and don't fix the warranty issue.
Not a good time for the PC market and I could see it heading this way years ago.
Looking @@ the 9000X3D and not a 7000 3D … but yeah.
So gaming and watching twitch / youtube on the 2nd monitor is considered multiple workloads? 😀
AMD keeps fumbling every opportunity to capitalise that I’m starting to think it’s an inside job.
Jay at 8.15, oops i did an Linus
performance in Linux is much better with this processors . Windows have some drivers issues you can watch reviews in Linux and in some games it make huge difference. I believe after after 3 months we should see real performance (more stable)
are there any plans on starting to use linux on benchmark instead of windows? i am getting alot better results than windows with inferior hardware. using steam linux for it
I love videos like this with all the numbers that actually mean something…..Whatever that means
This review is not relevant for 95% if gamers with the tested hardware! It is more nuanced for most people and the conclusion in the video need a big disclamer! It is all about what resolution u plan on gaming in! JayTwoCents know this but it is not clear in the video and it should be in the center as the less tech savvy people will draw the wrong conclusion about these cpus. Gaming in 1080p medium is not great but people with these cpu's and a 4090 will play games in 4k or at least in 1440p and with settings on high or ultra. The efficiancy of these new cpu's is better with less heat and noise. I understand the idea to test max fps of a new cpu, but in real life it is not relevant for people with a 4090. Heck a test in 720p could also show results. If u game in 4k or 1440p with a 4090 the uplift in efficiancy, heat and noise gives these new amd chips value. In 4k u are more than ok with a ryzen 7600 with a 4090, but probably not with older gen ryzen 5600. If i would buy a gaming rig today i would rather spend more on a fast cpu that is fast for all other tasks as much as the budget allows with as little heat and noise as possible. I would get at the minimum get the the new 9600 or 9700 and not a 3dx! There is most probably no gain at all in 4k with x3d processor so better to spend more on a gpu. However the tests in 4k will be sparse so confirmation is harder to do as max fps in 1080p is basically all the reviewers do. At launch it is hard to find time to do a deeper dive with more aspects than max fps, but most will not do it later either. Hardware unboxed is usually the ones that goes into 4k. testing eventually.
So hold up, because AMD are focusing their productivity line of CPU's towards productivity tasks and being efficient people are salty and calling it bad? The gaming chips are X3D you want raw fps performance, those are your option. You're building a solid workstation that isn't HEDT the x series are your option. Building the family computer that everyone uses to just browse the internet and do light word docs on? You by the non x series. Or even the G line. Why is it a problem not everything is tunes for gaming?
Ill keep my 5800x3d i got at launch.. thx. I dont need anything more. Dont need to get 32gb of ddr5.. a new mobo etc etc..
If anything i need more storage…. 4tb of hdd space is all gone
Upgrading from 5800, might consider it.
Thanks for all the info on the new processors. Maybe you could add a power draw over say a 1 hour session amd vs intel?
Intel on their knees and AMD still shat the bed. Staggering.
AMD are overrated. They also have their own issues with CPUs
4 sticks of DDR5 are able to run at ????mhz, Not tested.
I can able to do 192Gb@4800mhz with 7950x.
Me and my X370 motherboard from 1700 -> 3800x -> 5800x3d hahaha… AMD making me become lazy to upgrade these days
These thing happens to AMD during first launch…. gotta wait for updates to fix this
well I have 5900x.. I'm in no rush to get something new so I'll wait for some 9xxxX3D, kinda sad that intel is in trouble but amd can't capitalize on that enough imo
So … I guess my 5900X stays a little longer.
Hopefully the 9800X3D is amazing.
Or two CCD’s with 3D V-Cache on both. 9900X3D?
