Gamers dont realise that compagnies are printing money just with hype nowadays they dont even need to make the dayum thing. Hyping a game boosts their worth in the market because it pleases their investors simply because they have an IP that is worth something therefor the game and compagny are worth more. Push hard enough and you literally make money before even releasing anything. Dont get hyped dont pre order and dont buy microtransaction and all these shitty practices wont be worth it for investors and theyll drop them.

Any time I see a company sell XP boosters, or level skips, the cynic in me just assumes they purposely elongated the grind to level so that you would be pressured to buy said "time savers."

They sort of admitted that the game is being throttled to encourage spending in some way. I don't even think they realized how damning their response was. Their response was worse than the cash shop itself.

This argument might have been good a few years ago.. but this has become standard and is a cash cow for companies, why wouldnāt they offer in games sales.
They are not making the game just because they have all the money in the world. They are doing it to make more money

Red Dead Online charges in-game currency for fast travel, also an in-game daily fee for your camp and your stables. The idea is that you are trying to fill a bucket that is full of holes, constantly leaking your funds. These fees accumulate the more horses you have in your stable. Sooner or later ( with the planned additions of property ownership) it will get as bad as GTA Online, where you can accumulate thousands of in-game dollars in daily fees. They actively punish you for advancing and playing for long periods of time, intentionally putting you in a frame of mind where you have to make up that deficit by playing longer, only to incur more daily fees for long play sessions. It's only a matter of time before in-game currency will be purchasable with real-world currency, similar to shark cards, but R* seem to get a pass for this.
