Edit: And I still hope New World comes out well, but with New Genesis and the new FFXIV expansions coming, it's not looking good no matter what. That and their silence (barring those one or two memey posts) has been quite worrying.
I am really looking forward to New World, played the Alpha and the Beta, even purchased a new PC with a 3080 for the release of this game. I have enjoyed New World as I am a solo player that like to explore and uncover the whole map. Let's hope Amazon Studio's can get this right, surely they have put so much into this it's gotta be what the players want. Oh and no mounts, never mounts in an MMO, in my opinion that has ruined Guild Wars 2. Enjoyed the video keep then coming.
The Amazon problem is just the corporate problem. Positions are filled not based on how good you are but more on internal politics.
A corporation also thinks that they can just throw money at a problem and end up with a profit. In many businesses this works … But don't expect a good product.

I know you are inspired for this but lower your expectations, when games been delayed is not good sign specially for new IP. If is some game series you already know what to expect is proven by some point. Also amazon studios not have any success yet with stuff they try on gaming side. And one more thing MMO genre in general is dead by some point, only thing stay on massive level is WOW and player base even there is nothing like before. New World must be something groundbreaking to succeed in this generation. But I hope New World will be good game, we need something fresh in MMO genre.
New world has promise but cam Amazon Gaming pull it together unlike other studios in the same game type. Not many MMO's make it because of Subs and numbers of players on at one time, a casual MMO may change the landscape but there's always hope

I don't really know if I want them to fail or succeed here.. It's kind of funny watching these infinite money machines scratch their head and their ass at the same time.. wondering why money don't fix lack of talent and structure.. But well.. would be nice if they rolled out some new world i guess.. and perhaps some decent games in the future.. 50/50 on this yo!
Developing a reputation or habit of canceling releases is worse than releasing and maintaining something which does not receive top ratings or sales.
Amazon wants a game studio because vidya makes piles of money, as business school MBA cokeheads, they think of everything as a commodity, and fail or succeed accordingly.
Once again great video. It seems to me, as you have said, that the executives of AGS really don't know how to manage a game development studio. They seem to be putting their Amazon corporate philosophy (which doesn't mesh with the industry) and just chase after what's the hot genre currently. They should come up with a great ip that the developers can create and let the audience come to them rather than vice versa. Keep up the great work and I'll see you on the next video.
I wrote a video game. A version of Tron for our BASIC programming class in 1986. 1985 maybe? Hell, I can't remember when I went to school.
