  1. Could you do a short video on that New Mutants graphic novel. You said it was from the early 80's, maybe you said 1982? I've never seen a comic book/graphic novel in that wide format. I've never seen a bag and board that wide. So the interior of the book is in color? The closest that I have seen to this is maybe the black and white Planet of the Apes magazines. I think they made a Conan book as well. Marvel had several books in that magazine format but they were in black and white. I've never seen a book like your New Mutants Graphic Novel. I think this format is worthy of a video. If I saw this book on Ebay I would have the same questions, "What is that?". I've never seen a graphic novel from that time period.

  2. Hey Mike, great books! I'm looking for a New Mutants GN as well. One small correction, if I may, All the New Mutants made their FA in the GN with the exception of Karma. Her first appearance was in Marvel Team-up #100. I didn't realize that Siryn's FA was in a Spider-Woman book – neat!

  3. It's really hard to pick a favorite out of this batch, but I think I'm going to have to choose that issue of The Spectre. He's one of my favorite characters who hasn't been utilized to his full potential. Great haul, Mike!

  4. Quality pick ups all around! A book you grabbed that's on my list (just haven't really looked hard for it yet) is Flash 225. Simple, cheap and a fantastic cover! I'll have to make an effort and finger through some back issues on my next LCS visit.

  5. Another great video, LMC Mike! Appreciate the info on the Spiderwoman #37. I have a bunch of X-Men related comics and I forgot why I bought them! (back stories and all of that – I've had some of them for 40+ years).

Your videos help so much because I then know what info to put on the new bag as I go through all of them. 😁 You are a wealth of knowledge, Mike. Appreciate you much.

  7. Hunting in a pack now Mike 😂 Always entertaining & informative. Nice to see your new addition Showcase #60 ‘The Spectre’, a comic I have & bought new in ‘66. Keep posting.

  8. Definitely the Showcase Spectre. I never was big into the character, but that is a gorgeous book. I saw a copy of it on the wall of my lcbs a day or so after I watched your video when you bought your first copy. If I had the money at the time, I probably would've picked it up after seeing it on LMC.

  9. Jeff sighting in the wild! Congrats on the great pick-ups, you did really well on that Flash book so good for you! That Spectre book is absolutely gorgeous…for someone who doesn’t do a lot of slabs you sure do have some quality ones in your collection lol! Thanks for another great video, Mike!

  10. That was a great day. You weren’t lying when you said this town was loaded with comics. I don’t think you could leave without a few books. Thanks to you l left with a few Michael Mayhew covers on She-Hulk. Almost picked up the Micronauts 1. I always loved that book because Michael Golden drew it. That was fun and we will have to do it again Mike!

  12. Hey Mike – Really enjoy your channel – probably because I have the same interest in X-men! I started collecting again (only on a casual basis) but love looking for comics in flea markets and other places as well. I meant to comment when you were looking for X-men 133. Had a copy. You mentioned in this video that you were collecting the Midnight Sons run. I was doing that about 6 months ago. I have a copy of a Morbius 1 (out of the bag) – its yours if you want it. Let me know and I can send you pictures. Look forward to the next video!

  13. so i totally understand wanting the new mutants book but why not wait for a first print? ive seen them for 20 or less recently at shows so im sure you could run into one. im not sure why any collector would want anything thats not a first print unless you are just going to read it. not hating on anyones way of collecting just trying to figure out how more modern youtube collectors think with the whole buying 2nd and 3rd print thing. great channel and i like that you always put the prices out there that you buy stuff at and the locations, it gets tiring seeing people keep everything a secret on youtube. great pick ups this time too especially with the graded showcase book, im not a graded guy either but since you have a reader copy i dont see a problem with buying a graded one to put on your wall.

  14. My favorite was the new X-Men. I like the bigger books and not everybody kept them. So which means you can find a nice one it shows better than anybody else's LOL or higher grade and more money if that's what you do. I have some I want to keep and some selling to keep the ones I have and get others LOL

  15. Good Evening Michael
Sensational show, once more! The Spectre is one of my favourite characters as well. The Creeper, Deadman, Dr Fate, yet I am A Marvel Man, but DC had some great stuff . I began buying comics with my lunch money in the silver age, around the same age as your son. And I had fun. I read it all SuperHero, Western War, Science Fiction. When people brought me comics, it was always Classics Illustrated! But I read them too.
I am still committed to comics, and learn just a little more every time I watch a show.
    Keep up the great work

  16. Beautiful ice sculptures; my favourite is the frozen fireplace and best humour award goes to Lettuce Rejoice.
The sixth print of the New Mutants graphic novel is the most valuable, with its Adam Hughes cover.
Avengers #185 is also significant because it's packed with Marvel's best from the late Bronze Age: Mark Gruenwald, Steven Grant and David Michelinie all contribute to the story, John Byrne and Dan Green do the art and scripter Roger Slifer pitches in with the colours. An amazing roll call of talent.
Congratulations on buying the slabbed Showcase, my book of choice out of all your purchases. It will definitely hold its value and likely appreciate over the years, which is great if you ever want to sell it to get a higher-graded copy. As a follow-on you could look at buying The Spectre's 1967 series, which only went for ten issues but features Neal Adams and Bernie Wrightson among its artists.

  17. Great pick ups and stories! I grabbed an oversized Excalibur Special Edition by Claremount and Davis because of your channel recently. I've always wanted to read that run so this was a great way to check it out!
