  1. Why is it that every time I hear "diversity" in these stories. My brain translates it to, "the greater good." The words become a cultist mantra to bludgeon you over the head at this point.

  2. I think it’s AI generated. The moralizing, “diversity” as a goal and end onto itself (whether it makes sense or not) and a lack of characterization are tell-tales.

  3. Food for thought!! Sometimes, a short sci-fi story with a couple of feel-good moments is, in fact, just a sci-fi story with a couple of feel-good moments.. and I think the whole world could use a few feel good moments and stories right now.
BTW- GREAT STORY!! LOVED IT!! I look forward to checking out more of your content!!

  4. Just under nine minutes in…the description of details has become too absurd to be able to continue. Again, incongruities abound, these authors really need to learn how to connect information with the events they invent. It needs serious refining with less wasted adjectives.

  5. Great story….but, a little too long to try to explain US, the human species. More preaching than story and too many of these do this over and over. Yes, humans like to think of ourselves as these noble creatures, when we are really just a thin veneer above pure animalism. Some, more than others. It is certainly a strength I would like to think we have, with the restraint we need to possess, but too often we lack. Oh well, great stories nonetheless.

  6. Yes, humanity is crazy enough to wield the power of creation and the power of the stars themselves as weapons. We were, are and forever will be the masters of war. I was surprised at the sudden threat from the human captain at first until we learned how humans were initially treated.

In many sci fi stories like this, humanity is the apex predator from a savage homeworld. I don’t mind it.
