Never wanted another round in my life until this fight, going to the judges is always a bummer. Last minute was prime for a stoppage, such a good fight, Hope Volk gets some hype on this.he deserves it.

I really thought he won, look at both of them when the scorecards were announced, you tell me who looked like he won?? Makhachev looked like he got beaten while Alex looked like he won. It was a close fight though so with the judges you ever know. I thought Alexander won, judges thought differently somehow. Don't forget Alexander was fighting up a weight class! you tell me who won guys. Anyways great fight, it surely needs a rematch cos it was so close!
The only reason he lost is because of the control time which is bullshit. Islam did NO damage lol look at the stats volk out striked him every round

Volks only dominated the last minute of the last round. Commentary was super biased. Joe Rogan had the stupid effect cos of the company.

UFC needs to do something about this "ground control" scoring. It's BS. Volk did all the damage on the ground and nullified every submission attempt. All Makhachev did was backpack him and he was gifted a victory.

volkanovski is true fighter man good sportsmanship and just speaking his truth. rematch would be lit if they both let it out, i feel like both of them held back a little bit. but islam was playing the smart game. hes striking was crisp punches and kicks he didn't try to force the submission too much. great fight respect to both.
He should still be number 1 pound for pound. No disrespect to Islam but thats just the truth. Got way more title-defence then Islam in his own division and this fight was so close so Islam should not bump up over him just because he beated him. Islam should be happy it wasnt 6 round cuz Volk looked great with the cardio and had more in the tank. HIs 5th round was amazing and ive never seen Islam having such a tough fight before.
I dont want to see a rematch yet, dont stop the FW-division it needs to keep moving. Yair vs Volk is a sick fight, yair can really do some crazy things against great opponent especially on his feets. He pieced up Holloway hardly so Max had to wrestle. I really want to see that fight, but if they do that fight and volk lose which you never know because Rodriguez can beat everyone because he got tools and tricks.then he wont be top 2 pound for pound. Please UFC dont be idiots and put volk as 2nd. Fight was close, islam won deserved but volk were close.
