Alec Rowley(1892-1958) – Fantasia on a Hymn Veni Emmanuel
—————————————————————————————————-
Completely redone ! The previous 2-years old video of this music has been deleted due to terribly untuned organ and wrong mic. position.
So, the sound mastering and overall playing are incomparably better.( I improve my skills and experience every year). Rhytmically more stable with flexible agogics, much better legato. All imperfections are mounted from several attempts.
This is one of my top-rated British ,warhorse-pieces – so it had to be recorded again

  1. This 'Fantasia' by Alec Rowley sounds amazing on this glorious organ in your latest recording: bravo, Kirill! Sadly, Rowley has become a largely forgotten composer these day, which is a pity as much of his organ music is easily accessible to both performer and audience. Rowley believed that between popular light music and serious music, there should be a middle ground; music which people would understand and find easy to grasp, seldom making impractical demands but still able to make a good impression – a philosophy I applaud.
