Albanese's new electric BMW fleet an example of ‘out of touch’ political class

IPA Deputy Executive Director Daniel Wild says the Labor government purchasing a new fleet of electric BMWs serves as an example of how “out of touch” Australia’s political class are.

Commonwealth government drivers have been instructed to drive a new taxpayer- funded BMW iX electric SUV to Melbourne and chauffer drive ASEAN leaders when they arrive next week.

“It is another example of how out of touch Australia’s political class are – why are they driving around in $150,000 cars,” he said.

“You’ve got Australians doing it tough with the cost-of-living.

“Chris Bowen’s answers to these simple questions just don’t stack up.”

  1. There was a solar farm brought by an Idina Millionaire this solar farm was in NSW. The owner didn't worry about getting the solar panels up and running again as he didn't need to as he was making $40 million in subsidies from the taxpayer every year.

  2. Also don't forget about luxury car tax.
    Thanks for that one too.
Not that anyone is allowed to be a human being anymore.
You are cash cows for the ALP and the LNP.
Both gave you the middle finger a long time ago.

  3. The Left wing Labour party only want to pay back the CCP backhanders by forcing the rest of us ( the tax payers ) to buy Chinese made cars . Its OK if they drive BMW cars because they ( The Labour Party ) are special people .

  4. Albo and his minions completely out of touch with reality, what average person could afford even one of these luxury vehicles. The worst PM. and government this country has ever endured, a con artist and habitual liar who is now politically a dead man walking intensely disliked by the electorate with little voter support or credibility. Do the country a huge favour and save what little self respect and dignity you have left, RESIGN before you are pushed. Even if Labor hold on to Dunkley it will be at a reduced majority and another nail in Albo's coffin!

NOW A SMART CURRENT AFFAIRS PROGRAM WOULD SIMPLY GET EXACTLY THE SAME AMOUNT OF PETROL POWERED VEHICLES AND CAMERAMEN AND FOLLOW EVERY MOVE THESE BMW's MADE, THE COMPLETE JOURNEY, FILMING EVERY MOVE THEY MAKE, EVEN TOILET BREAKS, AND THEN SHOW THE HIGHLIGHTS TO THE VOTING PUBLIC, LETS DO THAT !. 😊😊😂😂

    SATT.

  9. These are about the most expensive electric cars you can buy. It is a clear rort to be using these in a fleet mode as they are going to spend a lot of time charging so there will need to be more of them to ensure the service level is maintained to our precious politicians.

  10. Over fifty years ago a friend of mine, Ted Pritchard , built the lowest emission engine in the world. I went to America with him to the E.P.A. and there wasn't anything that could get down to his figures. He later took the car over, demonstrated it to Senators from Washington and the vehicle industry successfully "Yes this is the way to go".
What happened? Nothing. Suddenly they don't want a low emission engine. At the time G.M. and Ford, tell me if I'm wrong, were getting $750 and $500K grants yearly. Ted the Australian got $188. When the Labor govt, got in they gave him $300K. to build three engines. One on the road, one on a dynamometer, and one for spares. On the return of the Liberal govt. they took $200K off him so the engine he built could not be tested. Did they take any from the Americans? I'll bet they didn't. That's the kind of politicians we had then and nothing has changed. Aust missed the chance of a lifetime and I can see it happening again. When Ted worked at the Govt. Aircraft Factory he had a scientist friend who had designed the flight recorder. They had all the information but the govt. of the day would not give them the funds to carry on. Instead they sold the information overseas for peanuts. So here are two very important projects that could have given this country a big lift. Politicians should be very careful what they say with me around. When young people start talking about their future I tell them to get out of here. Anybody with brains are are seen as dangerous.`
