An Alaska Airlines flight made an emergency landing in Oregon on Friday after a window and a chunk of its fuselage blew out in mid-air shortly after takeoff.
A passenger posted a photo showing a gaping hole in the side of the aeroplane next to passenger seats. It was not immediately clear if anyone was injured.
The airline said the plane landed safely with 174 passengers and six crew members.

wtf ?
It’s not a bug, it’s a feature! Some fresh air during flight…
Trust the Rich $$$ and u die
The spokesperson saying that the US has the safest aviation standards must have not heard of New Zealand or Australia? Boeing is a problem – management that does not understand engineering operation is useless. Boeing must not be allowed to fly worldwide.
Doesn't anyone find it weird that the plane was completely full, except for the two seats next to the blown out window area? Did they know of some potential structural problem before hand with the window that can be converted into an extra emergency exit?
How did Boeing get the MAX in the air, who looked at that thing and said “yea it’s good to go”
I worked for the Lazy B back in the 90s and saw the company culture shift from one driven by engineers to directed by bean counters, same corporate mentality that ruined NASA and the Armed Forces in this country. I guess they still haven't learned from their disastrous experience with outsourcing on the 787 project. Thank God I got the hell out of there when I did.
Who wants that window seat now!???
Go on, take it, its yours, no extra fee.😂
If it’s not Su-34, I’m not going.
And right now Boeing is hiring who ever they can for the yes votes on the new contract. They need to stop laying off good workers with experience
Send more money to ukraine.
Send more money.
34 TRILLION DEBT! Fkn clowns.
Boeing Max Again…
If Boeing had a lick of sense they would take over spirit Aerosystems and bring fuselage production back in house. The supplier had fuselage QC issues on the 737 and 787 last year!
Fun fact: Peter Griffin did open the door for fresh air.
They changed square windows in the 50's for a reason…
ATAÚDES CON ALAS….. hay que pedir la extrema unción antes de abordar estos infernales aparatos voladores….
Oh shoot, now they have to rename the MAX family again
Alaska Airlines emergency landing prediction, check!
So Aliens lied to us all.
I wouldnt be so calm ..
I wouldn't want to sit next to a hole…it must have been so scary
all 737 should be taken out of business, the design 56 years old. What we see is all sort of creative fixes to an outdated design. That this results in totally unsafe aircraft is not a surprise, it is a certainty.!
Boeing just can’t catch a break 😊
Regular 737 max flight
Welp, I'll now be booking only aisle seats for the rest of my life.
This video said 174 people… the pilot to ATC comms said 177… don’t worry about those 3 little people >_>
Luckily no one was sitting there, but seriously I have never seen empty emergency door seats before. Why were they empty? Who is responsible to use them when it is necessary?
made in china… oh wait.
Ok, now im suiing for $85 million because I once flew in that plane 7 years ago.and now I have emotional distress…here we go….
Well, its a beautiful night
Anyone find it odd that no one was seated next to the exit? When I fly, I always try to get that seat because of the leg room, as do many others frequent fliers do? No one did on this flight?
BOEING: "We will address this problem by hiring even more nonbinary women from Burundi to work in our manufacturing facilities"
Boeing again.
Anyone who gets on a plane like that is tired of life. The quality of Boeing aircraft has reached a low point in the company's history.
3th world country plane. i'm not surprised. made in usa means trash.
