  1. I remember Alanis recording a full acoustic album for the 10th anniversary of Jagged Little Pill.

She toured it and blew me away with those songs stripped down to their barest elements.

  2. I was 15yrs old when Jagged Little Pill came out. My high school friends flew around town in the East Bay Cali. BLARING her album windows down weed smoke billowing from the car filled with generation X Teens singing from the top of their youthful lungs. As SOON as we heard she was touring the only place close to us she was stopping in was Sacramento California. We bought our tickets telling our parents, Yoooo, I prolly won't be home tonight, going to SacTown to see Alanis, but we will show face at school the next day, PROMISE! That was coming from the kids who still graduated but didn't let our youth pass us by.
HOLY SHIZZLE PUFF!!! Alanis F-ing MURDERED it in 95!! She was the epitome of a Rock Goddess!! We didn't have that BS they do now with seating where the "GENERAL ADMISSION" would be having to fight to be in the front, or just be really pretty😂, but we made it to the front of the stage. She was incredible. On my way back the next morning, yes I was one of few teens who had a pager and a cell phone, anyways my mom calls to check on me, she then tells she she has me booked to work the Free Tibetan Concert in Golden Gate Park that very weekend. I was to work for one of her clients who was a backstage chef for the venues and tours in the Bay Area. I worked Multiple areas cause I was actually really professional at such a young age, so I got to work with Mtv!! I worked for Tabatha Soren AND Kurt Loder. I met Goldie Hawn, I was hit in the head with a football by Wyclef and Praz, telling them how I'd blow my brains out right now I'm so embarrassed and they offered to take a picture with me, but I was like you crushed my whole being right now, reminding them of who they are and how old I was, I needed Lauren in this photo, they told me she was busy with an Mtv interview, I told them I can wait! I then pranced to the raptors of the side stage to watch bjork perform. I didn't even have to seek them out after. I think they understood the severity of humiliation of a young HUGE FAN of the Fugees.
I have met Alanis a few times cause I helped make her food, served her drinks, and prepared her dressing rooms. I worked mostly out of The Fillmore, Bill Graham Civic, Oakland Coliseum, The Warfield, and Shoreline. She did multiple fundraising for the Bridge School Benefits for Neil Young. I saw Alanis in Golden Gate Park at a free concert and one other place after this. If you're a lucky one she will make eye contact and you have a moment to show your love and respect. I was lucky those last 2 times. I love and adore her so much. She is my idol. She has helped me through SO MUCH. Kelly I was there for you BACK in the day Queen. I voted EVERY WEEK. I knew from the moment I heard your voice. You were my numero uno! I have been one of your loyal fans and will always. It's crazy how us fans can feel like y'all are family but you don't even know we existed till we have that one moment😂 but you influence people's hearts and minds healing them, and sometimes destroying them. Music is a magical thing. Oh yaaa! I used to sing at a local piano bar in San Francisco and one night 5 seasons of the cast of American idol came in as me and my gf Lauren who was the pianist were singing some corny Broadway songs as I laid on top of the piano. My other gf worked in PR. She brought in Justin, the blond dude with glasses and a few others, but I was already 3 martinis in. My gf knew where to find me and knew I was the one to get on board for the night out!! So I called my Russian friend Leonid and the 2 of us took Justin out on a night out in SF. Took those photo booth pictures. I SOoooo believe my gf hooked up, lol. Good for her!!! Lucky girl! Lmao.
