Episode Description

This week the Wall Street Journal released an eye opening article about Wells Fargo and their relationship with Bilt. The Bilt Mastercard has become popular with certain groups of people, but it is seemingly costing Wells Fargo millions. Is this a good or a bad thing?

In other #news you may soon see a popup when applying for a Chase card and this might not be a bad thing. We also discuss more about Shawn’s trip to Japan, why Tokyo is amazing for family travel, how airport lounges are simply overrated, a viral Simpsons like video from Six Flags and why dumb cruise hacking could get you banned.

  1. I take an AM flights out of JFK monthly out of T8. The Greenwich lounge is nice. A less busy bathroom and an OK breakfast works for me. It's never that busy in the AM.

If you don't want to spend $4 for the water that the cruise provides, don't drink it. Would like to see her reaction if she got a water that someone already drank from.

  2. I wonder if this new pop up is because more Chase cards are going to go to 48 months between SUB, if so you would have 5/24 and 48 months to deal with making it impossible for some to get certain cards. As of now I believe only the CSR/P are 48 months between SUB

  3. Priority Pass lounges are so nasty! There are two of them at my home airport (SEA). One is in the international terminal, and the other is in the A concourse. Almost all of my flights are out of D or N, and when you consider all the walking and all the bad food, I usually just go to Hudson for a bottle of water and then go sit at my gate

  4. I rarely use lounge at my home airport as I don't arrive at the airport early enough. But lounges on layovers are a must. I have stayed at the Ginza Centric on points as Globalist. Breakfast is excellent. I also stayed one night at the HR Tokyo Bay the night before leaving and found it pretty mediocre.

  5. That water bottle story is a little old. I saw it in another video like a month ago. BILT, my kingdom for an elevated Hyatt transfer bonus on rent day. That's what that game is all about. So there are all these websites showing people like water bottle lady how to get free travel. Some people should be locked in the cellar and stay locked in the cellar because they don't know how to act in public.

  6. I don't think lounges are over-rated but there can definitely be an issue with overcrowding at times. I guess I'm pretty lucky that it's only happened to us twice – Capital One Lounge DFW (turned away and went to Admirals Club) and Delta Sky Club ATL (got in but SUPER crowded). Thanks for the info + video!

  7. We had clear and just got rid of it because it was taking twice as long compared to going in the regular line without tsa pre check. It was a good service a while ago but too many people have signed up for it and I would estimate 40% of the time one of us would have to show our ID still. We have a lounge membership and it saves us money every year.

  8. Went to a cat cafe in Tokyo, it was definitely a novelty type of thing. There is a car cafe in St. Augustine I took my kids to, and in Jacksonville there is a bar/dog park where people take their bestest boys and get a frosty becerage.

  9. Homer (I quote from memory): "But Marge, you know my life's goal was to be a monorail driver!"
Marge: "I thought your life's goal was to run out on the field during a baseball game."
Cut to framed newpaper clipping featuring a photo of Homer on the field, captioned "Idiot Ruins Game."

  11. We have Clear and are glad we have it. We like the lounges, but not the Priority Pass ones. ATL is our primary airport and the new Centurion lounge is great. We also like the Delta Sky Lounges at ATL. The lounges are a large part of the travel experience for us.
