  1. If you want to see how badly Columbian pilots treat their ageing aircraft do a search for 'Aerosucre' – these dudes regularly take off in old 727s and the like way, w-a-y overloaded, skim a few fences and tree tops, take the roof off the portaloos at the runway end and (mostly) just about get airborne. Utter cowboys.

  2. I'm only a beginner trainee pilot.
That first one was a virtual textbook go-around example well before the wheels ever touched down. Nothing about it demonstrated necessary stability. That's LOTS of dollars in aircraft and ground damage now.

I get what he may have been feeling in that moment – to try following through in executing a solid, solo landing. However, I think the instructors – not to mention the FAA assessors, would have more respect for someone who calls out a go-around and then executes a more "perfect" landing.

  3. 05:20 Never forget.
Whenever there's a fire, or other immediate emergency; whenever fellow human lives hang in the very balance, one must always…

Locate your phone (or potato), taking as much time as needed.
Begin recording. This is the mission critical step!
Walk toward your potentially burning/dying fellow humans as slowly as possible so that your video doesn't appear "shaky" on TikTok.

Helpful Hint: Alternatively, your phone (not your video potato) can also be used to immediately relay highly-crucial information to first responders already en route.

  4. "Oh bugger! . . . . Good job, Dude." How very different from so many of the amateur cam films where someone wants to make themselves the focus by repeatedly shouting "OMG OMG OMG or even swiveling the camera to loon into it.".

  5. “Still, he managed to maintain the runway center line”.???…….what video are you watching. He did not maintain the center line, even prior to touchdown. That should have absolutely been a go around. Nothing wrong with learning, and gaining experience, but why on earth he chose to put the plane down over a go around is beyond me.
