  2. Usually it's the Coast Guard that does these rescues. The one based in Eastern NC does most of them and the kid is at a hospital in NC.Glad the boy is recovering and doing well but what he had was mostly found in old men that have eaten terribly for years.

  3. 400 miles from North Carolina is not that far from the U.S.A. Imagine if it had been an international cruise. That kid would be dead. The lesson here is don't go on cruises ever.

  4. Bravo Zulu for an outstanding effort by the fliers and PJs of the 920th Rescue Wing!

My Uncle, a 38 year Marine veteran, always said two people never bought drinks in a bar if he was there: Navy Combat Corpsmen and Air Force Pararescuemen. Tge Corpsman because nobody messes with a Marine's "Doc", and because both saved his bacon more than once.

  5. That IS why there's a heli platform on the bow of pretty much all cruise ships.
Blackhawk is a bit big for it, though.
Kudos on the cruise line for reaching out to the coast guard & air force immediately.

  6. Definitely awesome, thankful for this Air Force crew and glad the kid is doing well but I'm pretty sure the US Coast Guard does things like this all the time. Guess it was "Daring" since it was the USAF?
