  1. Ah, the movie lovingly referred to as "Die Hard on a Plane", truly one of the greatest action films of the 90s.
Fun fact, there isn't really an escape pod on Air Force One, but Bill Clinton tried to have one added after seeing this.

  2. Watched this one in a theater, and have it on DVD and BD.
Very good action movie. A friend that watched with me said one thing I never forgot : Harrison Ford is very good in action movies. He is not a superb actor for movies that demand subtle emotions, deep feelings and things like that, (Harrison himself recognizes this, and since a long time he's been pursuing roles that demands more of him, in a pure acting way of speaking), but when it comes to films like that, he is second to none !
And Gary Oldman…., well, he gives a spectacular performance, as usual !

  3. This was the first movie I watched with my first Dolby Digital set-up. I had a surround speaker near a back door, and I kept pausing the disc to check if someone was outside every time I heard things coming from that speaker. Great movie. Wolfgang Peterson also directed In the Line of Fire and A Perfect Storm, both of which I enjoy!

  4. The one bit at the beginning that bugs me to this day is that none of the vehicles chasing AF1 on the runway are blow away by the jet blast as it takes off. Those vehicles would be scattered by the force of it!

  5. Villan Harrison= What Lies Beneath.
Also, you need to see his Jack Ryan movies, Clear & Present Danger and Patriot Games.
Plus, Presumed Innocent & Witness. All excellent films. He has a huge catalog.

  6. The most fictional element in this movie is having a POTUS who actually served in the Vietnam War 🤣 In real life, POTUS from both parties dodged service in 'Nam while those who served failed their election campaigns 🤪

  7. "MiG" is such a Hollywood thing… it would be like calling all American fighter planes "Grummans", despite the fact that:
Northrop (F-5, F-20), Grumman (F-14) and General Dynamics (F-16), and Fairchild (A-10), and McDonald Douglas (F-18, F-4), and Lockheed Martin (F-22, F-35) are all fighter jet manufacturers.
Russia/USSR had fewer manufacturers, but not ALL fighters are MiGs… Sukhoi has a long history of making fighter aircraft too, and in fact was more dominant in WW2 and was established the same year as MiG in 1939, but Hollywood never sends the SUs, just the MiGs… Mikoyan Gurevich. The MiGs in this movie looked to me to be MiG-29 Fulcrums, comparable to early F-18 Hornets.
