Winnie Chan is the CEO & Founder of Bynd Artisan, an experiential gifting concept born from a rich heritage of craftsmanship. Determined to redefine the paper industry and set it up for success, Winnie took an unconventional route of not only starting a new business in an unfamiliar sector but also in her 40s.
Despite facing adversities such as learning a new skill and scaffolding ways to cushion the impact of COVID-19 on her business, Winnie shares that life does not always go as planned. Through turning adversities into opportunities and pivoting when circumstances reaches an impasse, she reiterates that there are no specific pathways to success in life.

Winnie achieved recognition and credit for business innovation in transforming a sunset industry in book binding and leather crafting into a highly coveted luxury retail brand. An Economics graduate of UC Berkeley, Winnie spearheads Operational, Strategic Policies & Culture / Community Development while overseeing HR, Finance, Legal & Regulatory Compliance. She is most passionate about design and innovation and plays an active role in Bynd Artisan’s collaboration with creatives to create exclusive designers’ collections. As an active mentor at Young Women Leaders Connection (YWLC) mentorship programme, Winnie seeks to enhance potential young women leaders in their personal development and learning through a sustainable and fulfilling mentoring relationship.
