Against All Odds to Reach the Top of the World

Welcome back to our epic Arctic expedition! So far, we’ve traveled through the stunning landscapes of British Columbia and the Yukon, crossed sketchy bridges, encountered incredible wildlife, and explored unique sites and historic towns. Each moment has brought us closer to our ultimate goal – the Arctic Ocean. Today, we embark on the legendary Dempster Highway, leaving Dawson City behind and setting our sights on the Arctic Circle. The adventure ahead won’t be easy – we’ve heard that the river ferries might not be running, gas stations could be out of fuel, and there’s a road closure due to a washout. But we are determined to reach our goal of camping next to the Arctic Ocean. Join my good friend Shaun from The Story Till Now and I as we push northward, tackling the wild and remote path to the top of the world. The most exciting part of our journey is just beginning!

  1. This series has been so exciting to watch. I just watched where you and Shaun finally found camp along the Dempster Highway. Spectacular view oh my gosh. I've been watching for years and I got a little emotional there thinking about how far this channel has come. Quality content unmatched! Thank you for bringing us along on these amazing adventures!

  2. Bravo!! I think this was the best one yet out of your Arctic Series. It’s amazing how the story can feel so different just looking through someone else’s lens, even though it’s the same exact journey. Incredible journey! Thank you for taking the time to bring us along for the ride through your amazing videography and editing. Looking forward to the next one!

  3. I’ve Driven the Dempster all the way to Tuk in an F-250 with an Adventurer camper. But I did it in early March. And frankly I think that’s the time to go. Close to 12 hours sun, smooth (glare ice) road, easy crossing of the Pearl and MCKenzie. And no bears. No dist. No mosquitos. The downsides: it’s cold. Got down to -35f. So you better have a stout rig. Also it doesn’t usually snow that time of year but what is there can blow around resulting in no visibility

  5. Welcome to the "Arctic Circle Club". I crossed back in 1970 on my way to a remote AF radar site. I have really enjoyed seeing your trip, seeing the scenery. Thank you so much for filming this for us to enjoy.

  6. Good morning! Love this trip and trying to follow along. Wish you would assign a number ## in the title so it is easier to watch in order….😊. Due to my on unforeseen circumstances I’m not able to tune in regularly. Maybe some others would like to follow on order too.
    Keep it up. 👍 👍

  7. Oh guys…..Great adventure. My brother and I drove the Dempster in 1979. I still have a book of matches from the Eagle Plains Motel, at least I think I could still find them, somewhere in my dresser….hahhah. For us, no ferry at the Peel River. Parked the trucks at the ferry approach, walked a couple hundred yards downstream (I could see the clump of trees in your overhead shots), and introduced ourselves to a family running a fish wheel. The son agreed to give us a ride across the river. On the other side, we, fortuitiously, were offered a ride on into Ft. McPhoo. Great little community at the edge of the world filled with extraordinarily friendly people. We didn't make it to the Beauford Sea, but our trip of a lifetime. It's interesting how little has changed in the last almost half-century.

Thanks so much for letting us share in your adventure. Well done and be safe.

  8. Sir, thank you so much for the stunning views of parts of this world I will likely never see. Your videos are amazing! Some day when you have some time to spare you should make a video of nothing but all the earth footage you taken … would make a great play on the tv!

  9. Hey Brad, great videos. Going to the Artic Ocean is on my bucket list. I thought I would want to go through Alaska, but after watching this video, I'm positive I want to go the same way to Tuk. Quite the undertaking, I live in your area, so I understand the miles you have to put down, which is probably the only reason I haven't gone thus far, but hopefully I can go soon. Thanks again, see you on the trail.

  10. Great adventure!! I’ve been following Shaun and your version of the trip good stuff. The BC guys they’re the real deal. I met Shaun at a Patreon run and some of his friends great people. But so far my favorite part is the beginning when Shaun took you to the fire tower into the mud because I know you love mud.😂
