Going so crazy and confused after the credits, combined with the emotional rollercoaster probably most people have during the whole final battle, that you start swearing in german, is very relatable. Love it
The Duty Undying 2 quest gets a lot of shit because it's effectively a nuanced take on people throwing their lives away and people don't like such a topic observed under any lens that isn't "no, killing yourself bad you have to live" but it's honestly my favourite side quest in the game.
Not just because that nuance is rarely explored but because of how it meshes with Clive and challenges his goal because we've never really had anything challenging the pros of Clive's future up to that point. This side quest had Clive acknowledge that when he creates a world where people are free to live how they please that unfortunately means some people are free to throw their lives away.
He clearly hates it, but he begrudgingly accepts and maybe respects the choice made because it is part and parcel of the future he strives to create. It's just an underrated side quest due to people's initial reactions but it sticks out in my mind honestly.
So as far as i can tell Clive used the powers of ultima to save Joshua before Clive sacrificed himself. Joshua then went on to make a book telling his brothers story but as time passed an with magic gone, it all became a fairy tale. hence the final fantasy
Become a god to destroy god, I love it

Clive, Joshua, and Dion weren't lucky to have Ifrit, Phoenix, and Bahamut. Ifrit, Phoenix, and Bahamut were lucky to have Clive, Joshua, and Dion.
Edit: 6:50:46 That combo of those specific moves finishing him off is nothing less than poetic.
