Against all odds | Building a female club

How do you get girls with minorities to play football? How can you make positive change in disadvantaged areas? These were the questions Marcus Sosseh Enerhaugen asked himself. The answer to that question was that you cannot expect change to just happen, you need to do something if you want to be a positive change in your local community. So he helped by starting up a girls team in Romsås. Three years later he is now the coach for the team, trying to get more girls in Romsås to play football – and equally important, get them to keep playing. In our latest Unisport documentary, we meet up with Marcus to understand his vision, his challenges and his desire to be the catalyst for change.

Marcus Sosseh Enerhaugen is the second recipient of the ‘Unisport Scholarship’ and the first Norwegian. With the scholarship comes help in form of financial support and mentoring.

  1. Thank You Unisport for this video❤
Had goosebumps while watching, so much emotion, passion here for football.
We need more people like Marcus to make a change in the wolrd, for girls who aspire to achieve great things in football🥺👏💪.

Some girls are born in countries where there's lot opportunities when it comes to football while some don't get these opportunities in other countries.
There's family issues, studies and some have to work and play football at the same time which is really tough.

  2. As a girl who plays football in a third world country it was very hard for me to convince my parents to let me play football and I still can't become the player I want to as they're holding me back but I'm trying my best, ik alot of girls here who wanna play and excel in football but they can't cuz their parents wont let them or they don't take it seriously I hope it'll change over time cuz it rlly saddens me and it's just another huge problem for alot of girls who have great potential but can't reach it cuz of their parents/family. This video made me rlly happy thankyou for this 🙏🏻

  3. This is so good but the girls argue how much there getting paid cause there earning less then average men players the main reasons is that players get payed for the ads the tickets revenue and merchandise and sponsorship since women doesn’t have much revenue then the men, as men girls should no argue and get mad at the boys but I totally encourage this glto all the girls hope you become a football player ❤
