Adelaide predicted to play ‘vital role’ in construction of nuclear submarines

Adelaide is predicted to play a “vital role” in the construction of Australia’s first fleet of nuclear submarines, says Sky News Reporter Monique Van Der Heyden.

Construction of South Australian technical colleges have begun to prepare students in related industries.

Students in years 10 to 12 will be equipped with the skills needed to work in the defence industry, including how to build ships and submarines” Ms Van Der Heyden said.

  1. Well, it's a good idea, but it's likely going to go very wrong.
It will likely be compromised via CCP cameras contractors and students. I really don't think we can run this securely.

  3. If the Labor Party push jobs for the corrupt Labour Unions in SA, then we will NEVER see working subs. Just as the Colin's Class subs, they are STILL having ongoing mechanical issues.

  4. Politicians and unions were always going to hijack this, there are billions of dollars in graft at stake here. Australia should pull the plug on the whole thing right now. You're never going to get submarines, it's just a question of how much money disappears in the process. The only real possibility is to get some used boats from the US Navy, but no one likes that idea because there is nothing to steal.

  5. I am sick and tired of hearing about submarines and Adelaide in the same sentence. If you want submarines than have the damned things built in a country that knows how to get shit done and that surely aint Australia.

  6. Bloody hell, in 10-15 years the subs themselves will be redundant.
Lease or share some subs from USA etc, short term?
Why wouldn't Australia move forward with 'defence shield' tech and A.I. as a priority

  7. Great to build the colleges we need to stop importing 60+ % of our engineers from overseas, but stop lying to us about nuclear boats, they will be obsolete before any are built in Australia. The pollies are just lying to us, we are 50 yrs away from building a nuc boat.
