  1. I have played DA2 many many times and I don't think I ever made it so Thrask actually walks away like that? I think everytime I played he ended up leaving with the mages, this is actually new to me, tho it did always feel bit odd to me that he just leaves everytime (I mean, there is also 'that' option, but who would actually do that)

  2. You can finish Act of Mercy without a pile of deaths, easily if you have Varric around but it's possible to trick Keras on your own into searching for mages elsewhere. Personally I've always suspected they were rather more involved with the blood magic than they pretended, certainly the one who surrendered believed it.

  3. Actually Merrill got a +10 friendship from letting the mages escape. It was saying bloodmages need to die that caused you to lose 15.

It can be a little confusing because they all get added up together so you can't see which option caused the friendship gains/losses

  4. Was never a fan of Seamus, not cus he was sympathetic towards Qunari its just that he always kind of came off as a bit of a immature brat to me. Which I guess makes sense since I think he's a teenager? (He could be early 20's I don't know).

Maybe its just bias cus I'm more sympathetic towards his father cus of everything he has to balance.

  5. It's not required but you can talk to the Arishok about most of your quests involving the qunari, even after they're completed. I think that's why that star dialogue option keeps showing up.

  6. Those other templars immediately jumped to killing one of their own for not killing the mages on sight. I really don't think they're a big loss for anyone haha!

Also Merrill probably disapproved because Hawke basically said she deserved to die right in front of her 😭

  7. @25:46; Varric is generally able to lie better than Hawke, though I think you can get away with it as a lie without Varric, I've not been able to in the past – as I recall, whenever I do that, the templars say "Great! Let's go count the bodies then!" in response.

  8. As for role of "viscount's son" it's not the role within the Qun, after submission to the Qun (because you don't follow, you submit and accept the certainty of the Qun) he probably wouldn't be "viscount's son", so his qunari "friend" couldn't care less about his role outside of the Qun, because it is outside of the Qun. From a Ferelden/Free Marches point of view it might be right, Qun ties qunari down, but for qunari it provides certainty, it's orders and dictates all-religious and non-religious aspects of the qunari life, it's not personal, it's communal, unlike viscount's son, whos position provides no certainty and doesn't dictate other aspects of his life (it influences, but it's not certain:)), things are expected, not demanded

  9. 8:30 In before there not being a single mage quest in a while now that Anders comes out.
17:55 I bet Anders would have liked that, though. Would have been another reason to bring him. You're making all these Anders appealing choices without him being there to get the friendship+.

  10. 22:05 "Shoot" is right. You just overheard Thrask already lying to them about the mages being dead. (Also exactly what the mage lady wanted without him even being asked to.) That was your hint to pull on the same string and lie aswell. (Instead of of exposing him as a liar for apostate mages right in front of the more fanatical templar.)

  11. 21:17 Typically, undead in DA are created by summoning a demon and binding it to a corpse. That means that once created, an undead can operate indefinitely, the mage just does the controlling. If the blood mage dies, the undead goes about doing its demon business.

  12. I think Saemus seems more coddled than anything. Ashaad may have just been tolerating him but he took it as a great sign. Plus, he seems naive on the Qun, given how he only sees the powerful, stoic exterior of the Qunari and seeks to emulate it through them.
Not that his father has no blame in this but I think he still loves his boy, even if he still has to appear powerful. This seems like a complicated situation. Well written.
