What was the mystery of this great ship from the dark, deep reaches of space? For, within its death-filled chambers—was the avenue of life! Derelict by Alan E. Nourse, that’s next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast.
We heard Alan E. Nourse three times in the first thirty-four episodes of The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast but he hasn’t been heard from in almost two years. We will remedy that today with a spacefaring saga that is sure to delight your ears.
Pick up your May 1953 issue of If World of Science Fiction magazine and turn to page 76, Derelict by Alan E. Nourse…
Next on The Lost Sci-Fi Podcast, It’s one thing to blow a bubble of glib, journalistic lies. Quite another to have that bubble burst in a nightmarish, green beyond. The Man Who Found Out by Roger D. Aycock.

This channel presents not only the best curation of Sci-Fi writing but does so with outstanding narration… voice-acting… neither term does justice.
Might the esteemed presenter proffer this appreciative listener his preferred title? In either case, the work is valued and shared!
It's a very interesting story. Thank you, Scott, for another beautiful articulated reading. ✌️💚 🏴 🇬🇧
A great story I heard before but not by the master narrator. Very well done. Thank you.
Thanx Scott.. Great Story!!
Although the theme is an old trope these days, it was somehow very satisfying to hear one from when it wasn't!
So well crafted, easy to see why it's been rehashed so many times.
Thank you Scott.
Thanks again Scott, I loved it.
Nourse is a name I've come across, but can't recall reading anything from his interesting bibliography that I looked up while listening to this.
Nourse of course of course of course …
I was born in May of 1953, I just started listening to this story but I already love it.
This was the sci-fi version of two rebellious teenagers planning to steal a car with no idea as to what they were going to do after they drove off with it.
