Abandoned Coal Tracks At The Abandoned Power Plant, Fast CSX Trains, Louisville & Nashville Railway Heritage Locomotive, 5 Track Railroad Crossing & 3 Track Railroad Crossing With CSX And Norfolk Southern Trains. 7 Trains In Miamisburg And Carlisle, Ohio.
First we go to the abandoned railroad yard that was used for coal cars for the power plant that was closed a few years back. This is just outside of Miamisburg, Ohio. We take a close look at the rail and a look at the progress on changing the power plant to a new development. Two CSX trains passed here. They were both booking and the second one had the L&N Heritage locomotive. That was my first time to catch it. Chris, @LostDepot was here with me. This is the DP&L Hutchins Power Station. It closed in 2013 and is being redeveloped into condos and businesses. I remember it used to have a GE centercab locomotive and about 4 tracks that went all the way to the river. The railroad crossing for it had a yellow flashing light on a pole. The light is laying on the ground today.
Then we moved just a couple of miles south on the same lines to Carlisle, Ohio. This is an interesting railroad crossing with a busy CSX line and a Norfolk Southern line that gets a train every few hours or so. We see a big Norfolk Southern train with DPU power in the middle and a Norfolk Southern local switching train.
We also catch 3 CSX trains speeding through the crossing on the Toledo Sub. The Toledo Sub goes to Queensgate Yard in Cincinnati. The Norfolk Southern line is the Dayton District that runs to Gest Street Yard in Cincinnati. Both yards adjoin each other and are behind Cincinnati Union Terminal. If you want to see more trains from this area check out Chris’s channel which is @LostDepot. Last week Chris was filming a train in Carlisle and a woman walked in front of a CSX train while Chris was filming. He did not post the video of course showing the accident which happened right in front of him. I’m glad I didn’t go there that day. Also, check out the slide show at the end of the video and see what the Live Action Pets are doing.
Filmed Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

@ jaw tooth have you ever seen a Chessie system heritage unit is the Chessie system 6914
Déjà vu ,they are old vidéo, last time at Mars 2023 … same thing all this week … ae you sick and don't make New vidéo ?
I’m glad you caught csx is heritage unit I think they look cool I hope you liked it NS has better ones as csx didn’t fully paint them like NS did and some railfans took issue with it but let’s all be grateful csx has actual hers units now
Many person forget see those vidéo at Mars 2023 , but many other remember those ,deja vu , vidéos …all those video are old vidéos.
Hey Jaw Tooth I mentioned to you yesterday about your vids being jerky and choppy but it was my YouTube app I deleted it and downloaded a new version and the jerkiness went away this is Will from Beaver Falls in Western Pennsylvania come scope out our 3rail lines that intersect at a bridge and viaduct around and across the Beaver River CSX 1 line & Norfolk Southerns 2 lines…
Thank you for taking us back to the decommissioned coal fired power plant near Miamisburg, Ohio. We have not been to this location in a while. The CSX Louisville & Nashville Heritage Unit was unexpected catch. The trains in Carlisle, Ohio gave us a wide variety of freight cars to view.
Norfie for President
Hey there Mr. jaw tooth 🦷 thanks again for another good train 🚆 video. You really do Rock 🚆🚆🚆💯💯🦷🦷🦷
Did you see the Conrail coil car on the last train? That was pretty cool. That rail was rolled just a month after the stock market crash that ushered in the Great Depression.
Anybody seen one of ours locos running on your lines. Its yellow green class 66
GB
I hate the way that CSX does heritage units. Norfolk Southern Heritage Units have the old-fashioned paint scheme on the whole locomotive, but CSX doesn't do it on the nose.
Hey Jawtooth I love your videos very nice they are booking also my dad will subscribe to your channel and he will like to watch trains and also will be a big fan of you 👌
Is the US now averse to burning Coal for power? Has old Biden caught the demolition affliction from the Globalists?
😅wat isit busy on the rr. nice Ducatti motorbike.😂
😅song from the Dutch singer Guus Meeuwis:kedenge deng x3 wooh woooooh.😂
Just wanted to say that I have watched a lot of the other railfan Youtubers and you by far are one of the best with your videos.. Keep up the good work…
😅was a nice en cooool video, super, have a nice weekend an stay warm. greetz:🍐Peer en Tony, laterzzzz😅👍👍👍👍
love the look!
It's nice to see different power instead of the normal ones we see. Thank you for the video Brian stay well roll on
Maybe the power plant will become a restaurant/ bar???
First time I've seen a two digit numbered locomotive, on your channel.
120 train and thanks you my friend it me Eric 1 love.👍😁👍👍😉👍
I Wouldn't build any type of living space on that property unless they did a full soil remediation, used to do service work there and you wouldn't believe what's been spilled on the ground out there!!!
That was a fast CSX mixed freight! I like the body style of the second locomotive,6 Months JT. Nice catch. 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
What did the power plant serve, JT? A town or an industry? Thanks. 😊😊
Second locomotive in the first train had a hockey stick CSX! Second train had that L & N—great catch!! Great video Jawtooth!
Another fast CSX mixed freight with a heritage unit. Who was L&N? Thank you! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤ By the way, this train had one less car than the first. I think that's eerily odd.😮😊❤
We have a fabulous NS mixed freight with a DPU next. A fair mix of different cars but the last one made this train for me! They could have kept the other 109 cars as long as they kept the drop deck heavy haul flat be car. That was just incredible JT! 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hey jaw tooth great trains today. Sorry the wind gives you a hard time. Don't you wish you could control the weather. ? Have a great railroad day. 🙋♀️🚂
I was hoping for a longer CSX intermodal but 97 was still a good train. 😊😊😊❤❤❤
In order to make sustainable electricity you need coal or diesel power…just look at trains..diesel powered electric
Great video Brian. Loved the old “Milwaukee Road” car on the L&N train.
The last train was long and interesting, for sure. A mixed freight of 121 cars that had some new tall gondolas, (for lack of a better description), new covered hoppers and a really nice string of box cars. It had others too but I was pointing out what caught my interests. Not too fast but still a fabulous train. Hreat catch JT! 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the spectacular video JT! Great trains, scenery and entertaining. You really do a stellar job producing and presenting. To end with the pets is top notch with me. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Lots of trains in this video!, not easy to pick a favorite, so I'll pick them all! Thanks Brian, Jawtooth. Nice L& N Heritage Unit.
Nice Video
Those trains look familar.
Cool horn salute from CSX.
Too bad you didn't pick up coal for stockings during Christmas…LOL
Good evening 🌇🌇🌇 Jaw Tooth
That looked like a 74er.
Awesome 😊
Hey @jawtooth you should go to Kingsley Inn Fort Madison i highly recommend that area for you to go
Good video Jawtooth
(For me) it was nice seeing CSX's L&N "heritage" unit 1850 once again…last August 31, I saw it roll by on CSX's "A"-Line (ex-ACL) at MP823 (Davenport FL) as a DPU on northbound manifest M457…fresh out of the paint shop, no less!! Beautiful classic Norfolk Southern horn coming from the local (equally-classic) SD40-2 @16:00. That interesting (headend) boxcar @21:52 was an ex-Amtrak express car…one of many owned by a leasing company called Carmath. 👍👍
NUSAH! Jewish for broken or torn apart. Also, Jewish for music of prayer. Who knew?
Wondering if they're gonna dynamite those 3 smokestacks at the old power plant – that would make a great video! You missed that cross and memorial @7:39 (lower right corner) Something bad happened at that crossing!
Son, those trains are aaaa rollin! Thanks for the action!
