  1. Wow, I am impressed that you quickly picked up on the pancakes thing. Very perceptive and I say that as someone who did not initially pick up on it. We have gotten to the last confidant that is story important. Akechi needs to be rank 8 by November 24th in the game.

  2. Aaaaaand Akechi appears! I wonder how quick you'll realise his place in the plot.

Seems like you caught the pancakes line immediately. Not surprising for you, even though majority skipped right over it (and I can't blame them). Well, good luck figuring that out

Akechi's confidant is active unlike vanilla and is one of the three that you need for unlocking additional content (along with Maruki and Kasumi), so I'd recommend you pay him attention. Wonder if you end up liking the boy. Hmmm.

I'm almost sure Yusuke's confidant has an automatic start, so you'll have to wait.

Tip: It seems you forgot that you can read at leblanc's stools. IIRC, you got book about captain Kidd from the school library, and it gives you guts, so make use of that

  3. A few things:
    1. If you think this game makes you want food, you'll be starving if and when you play Persona 5 Strikers.
    2. These guys are definitely not chaotic neutral, they're chaotic good.
    3. I'm not really sure why they re-recorded the "I am thou" stuff for Akechi. He's a confidant in regular P5, so they should of had the recording from that game.

  4. While waiting for leads on a new target, we take a field trip to a TV station and meet a seemingly pleasant boy who is in no way suspicious at all, which means…
    Voice cast introduction:
    Goro Akechi: Robbie Daymond

  5. You guys finally get to officially meet Akechi!!! I'm so excited to see your reaction once you get to know him, he's one of my favourite characters ever!
Believe it or not, the Fandom is pretty split on Akechi. One side loves him, and the other side kind of hates him (since he's really annoying and actually kind of an asshole once you get to know him)

  6. The letter of recommendation being dangled for the educational success expected of an honor student, the reputation of the rising prosecutor that is her older sister, the school's questionable dealings with an abusive teacher, the unreasonable assignment to deal with impossible-to-prove Phantom Thieves AND a friggin' criminal organization, and being equated through rumor with the forces that protected the scumbag teacher that kickstarted this whole thing in the first place…

In her own way, Makoto Nijima is just as pushed down as the folks she's being made to investigate were. Her heart's chains simply look shinier.

  7. I love the two very insightful predictions of Act VI stuff. Also, that observation skill might make for some good times if you keep your eyes open while hanging out with Akechi.

I don't love all those gaps in the Demon Compendium. And not having lower-level fusion-fodder will only make the problem worse as you level up. You should not get attached to these small-fries: none of them really know any moves worth being excited about yet, and they're more useful for fusing into other stuff that a) may learn that stuff, and b) may serve as grist for higher-level fusions.

  8. Just wanted to mention since you guys seemed to be weirded out by when Sojiro was talking to Ann, but its more the fact that he is looking out for Joker and is happy to see Joker's making friends with both male & female and basically approving of her. In a way he's just being more of a Dad then anything to Joker and approving of Ann & Joker being together if there was a chance they would decide to date. I'm sure you will understand more about Sojiro and learn more about him as the game goes on, but you guys have pretty gross thoughts if you think he was trying to hit on her or something.

As for Akechi some reason at least visually by his looks made me think of Yagami Light from Death Note. Also good catch on the Pancakes thing most people totally don't notice that little detail that Morgana is the only one who mentions it. I know Makoto is being super aggressive with us right now, but I feel really sorry for her being pressured by the Principle to do all his work when its his job to look out for the students. I really despise that giant egg headed guy.

  9. Akechi is another very important confidant. In the base game, he automatically levelled with plot, but here, you have to hang out with him just like most of the others.

  10. dude
i kinda feel bad for kasumi

it feels like evan missed out on a lot of the "right answers", choosing the more joke answers rather than serious ones

i am afraid it might affect the relationship between joker and kasumi

  11. So when Yusuke says he wants to end the meal with porridge he means congee, a rice porridge eaten in a lot of Asian countries. After you’re done with the hot pot the soup will have taken in the flavours of all of the ingredients used throughout the meal so the best use for that leftover soup is to either add noodles or turn it into porridge.

  12. I was enjoying this playthrough series, but you guys are obviously looking stuff up for the game, which is fine but takes away from a blind playthrough feel. I'm out

  13. I don't know if this will help since you've probably already fused that lv 22 councilor persona, but I recall you being able to fuse a councilor persona early on with Saki Mitama

  14. Honest to God. i dont blame the cast, on my first playthrough, i didnt pick up on Akechis "Pancake" comment either. maybe i was just tired that day and didnt pay much attention but stuff like this can happen.

  15. I'm still mid-video so you may have already figured this out by now. But you have to call Kawakami to activate her. That's why she's greyed out. It's not that you cant meet with her yet, it's that she's waiting for you to call.

  16. Just a random thing that I as a political science student would like to point out: The distinction between totalitarianism and authoritarianism is not universally accepted, nor is where to draw the line between the two, so the game asking the question with that assumption there is a difference is already a bit…let's say those kinds of assumptions are not helpful in the social sciences. Even if one accepts there is a difference (and I do) there isn't a universally accepted definition for exactly when an authoritarian state becomes totalitarian. Russia, for example, has long been authoritarian but not totalitarian but are now shifting towards the latter; are they there? That can be debated, like everything in social sciences
