A Well Earned Estate! | Crusader Kings III: Roads to Power #18

Allow me to not take sponsors and keep saying naughty words: https://www.patreon.com/MrSamuelStreamer

This series a more rustic, rough edges playthrough of CK3 just like the good old days. No grand intro, no crazy goals, just jumping into, what I consider, the best DLC CK3 has to offer and traveling the whole breadth of the globe, and the DLC in the process.

  1. You mentioned estates being pretty close to republics (or rather the "landless" thing we had in ck2 when playing republic and not being doge).

There is a mod that makes republics playable using eststes as base. Might be worth taking a look. Idk the name of it but Laith from Social Streamers made a video playing it.

  2. If you get a coastal estate, you can ask for Naval Theme, which among bonuses, removes Disembark Penalty for armies. Meaning, you can raid as a Norse viking, with Byzantine ability to ignore shorelines. Its fun!

  3. If you get a border type theme, you are free to declare border wars to expand, and because armies are theme dependant (thats why you lost yours), you would already have a pre-made army, plus you can spend influence to borrow someone else's.

  4. Sam, you can select the themes on the admin menu and see how is the sucession line and campaign for yourself or your heir for those titles and you get a bunch of influence character interactions that might be interesting to check, also as this character would never assasinate a person to get land as a honorable knight you might want to look for the oldest least healthy duke so you could capitalize on this the fastest

  5. heres my idea for the following series. pick a later start date, play as a descendant of grignr whos been kicked out of byzantium and seeks revenge on the Empire. Later characters can hybridize with greeks and form a varangian culture and then empire when you overthrow the byzantine empire or make your own empire

  6. There is a way to see the next candidate for a governorship! The same way you see the line of succession for any title. Click on the title on the current holder's… character page? Whatever that window's called.

  7. after years of avoiding CK3 content, I now realize how fucking ugly this game is. From the lifeless, corporate UI to the clay characters and world map made of vomit colored playdough – this. game. is. ASS.

  8. Check this idea out. Elder kings Khajit Pa' blo Escatbar. Adventurer full scheming full stealing, make the best Cat Bandits of Elsweyr, then buy the Estate harvest the moonsugar and become the Skooma Lord of Tamriel! He can be joined by Jobi Nobi! and other great characters like a Werebear called Joris

  9. @Mr Samuel Streamer good choice not to activate Wandering Nobles, there's a few event bugs that they need to fix, like soundbits firing at the wrong time, double hunter event going on, many event descriptions not making sense and so much more. It affects more than just the added content, unfortunately.

  10. Something I usually do as an up-and-coming noble family is to challenge status constantly. It gives you influence as a reward and you can usually find agents who are eager to get on board to challenge the status of their rivals.
