20:19 I don’t remember that walkway but there were jogging and cycling modes in Wii Fit that let you travel around Wuhu Island more freely.
I kinda hoped they did this with Spocco Square in Nintendo Switch Sports.

I feel like it should be acknowledged that a grounded Free Roam mode for exploring Wuhu Island from the ground did exist. Free Biking in Wii Fit. (It might've only been in Wii Fit+? I don't quite remember.) It was a mode where you could ride freely ride a bike around Wuhu island, holding the Wii Remote like the handles to steer.
Granted however, it had some downsides. To unlock Free Biking you need to clear a bunch of smaller biking challenges that were restrictive in where you could go and how long you had. Additionally, it was Wii *Fit*. You had to use the Balance Board to actually replicate cycling a bike by… Bassically Jogging..? Furthermore, there was a 30 minute time limit, which wasn't too intrusive, but I could see it being annoying. And lastly, there wasn't anything reminiscent of the fast travel system. Not only did you have to get everywhere manually, but you couldn't access anywhere not accessible by bike.
Ultimately, I'm very happy to see a far more accessible way of traversing the Island being introduced! Especially with the additional locations that wouldn't have been visitable in Free Biking.

I always wanted Wii Sports Resort to have walkable hub world where you could meet people online and try some minigames together, maybe some WiiConnect24 features… it's a shame they didn't really do anything with Wii's online potential.
Wuhu island has so much potential as an open world game, as well as a bunch of new sports they could add. Like imagine being able to stay at the hotel and you decide to go for a nightime jog, or sit by the beach with a bonfire. You can unlock your own private house and island in resort, but sadly you can't customize it. There are islands where the miis launch fireworks at night as well as a boat called "The Sea Caddy" that takes miis to wedge island. I find it so cool how they make everything make sense within the world of wuhu island. There's so much more i want to add but there's too much to say lol.
Oh yeah and that cave you were wondering about had an i point in the island flyover mode.

This is dream come true
I definitely remember running around the island in Wii Fit.
I also remember playing the biking races as a way just experience the island outside of flying.
And finally… this island is INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS!!! Seriously, add some railings or something! I can't tell you how many times I fell off the track in the biking races! My Mii should 100% be dead… Just permanently deleted from the Mii Channel.

All this talk about the ganes focused on this island, but personally, I'm mainly familiar with Wuhu from Mario Kart 7 having those two tracks and that Battle arena.
