A Tunnel under the Sea and Scotland's First Whiskey Distillery | Shoreline Detectives

Between the tides around the Inner Forth in Scotland, the team discovers a harbor that served as Scotland’s first whisky distillery.

Every day, on a sandy beach or a rocky foreshore, fascinating historical evidence appears and disappears as the tide rolls in and rolls back out again across the British coastline. Palaeontologist Dr. Tori Herridge and experts from CITiZAN (the Coastal & Inter-tidal Archaeological Network) investigate the stories behind these intriguing remains. From abandoned villages, prehistoric footprints, shipwrecks, and submerged forests, we follow the clues to how people have survived on the coast and how they’ve learned to live alongside the sea. It is an archaeological race against time as Shoreline Detectives battle to capture a vanishing past for us all to see.
