  1. Tornadoes are always amazing, scary and sobering. I hate the loss of life, it makes me so sad. As you said Recky, may those people rest in Peace, condolences to their families and friends. That tornado was very frightening.

  2. Back in 2012 when the tornado hit Tuscaloosa, Alabama, I had a friend that worked in that area. I called to see if they were ok. When I asked, he said, yeah, we're standing out here listening to this weird, constant rolling of thunder. I screamed at him that it was a tornado and they needed to get somewhere else 😂😂

  3. I0 minutes? Excellent choice, Recky! Out there somewhere, and I've tried to find it, there's video of a cop checking the damage from his car, as I remember it. He heard something or saw some movement, only to find a tiny baby in a tree or large bush. He gently picked the little girl up and began clearing the mud and debris from her mouth, nose and eyes. As I remember it he spent quite a while getting the stuff out of her so she could breathe. Telling the story later, all he wanted was for her to cry and she did. If anyone has that video, please get it to us here. I've never been able to forget it. It was an older video, like from the 70s. Remarkable.

  4. Hi Recky! Great to see you this afternoon here in Northwest Ohio and I remember this well though Van Wert is about 55 miles from me. I'm never disappointed watching your reactions. Stay safe Recky!

  6. Tornado's are amazing and terrifying for sure. I live in Indiana and have seen several in my life so far. Lucky for me and my family, we have never taken a direct hit. We did have damage to our house but only had to replace the siding, roof and some windows. We still go out side and watch for them and keep an eye on the sky for sure.

  7. There has been an instance where a area was hit with back to back tornadoes. Look it up and do a reaction on it. . I wanna say there were people who survived the first tornado and perished in the second one

  8. I live in Pennsylvania, I will never get used to seeing large tornados, I was in a postal building taking a test and the sky outside was green, rain was lashing the windows…found out later that a small tornado touched down very close to downtown Pittsburgh Pennsylvania…a few years later, I saw the atmosphere turn green, it was determined to be downdrafts and micro-bursts…one person lost their life when a cover tornado a ride was tossed and hit her…

  9. 20:23 that part about Jim having “silt and insulation” packed in his ears. Yep they don’t show that in movies but in real life a wrecked neighborhood is coated in insulation and gunk. It’s not clean debris. Saw that after an F3 struck my hometown neighborhood and my mom’s house in 1996. Also: so many nails and screws in the road that people keep getting flat tires until it’s swept up!

  10. Tornadoes can have families. A family is when one supercell thunderstorm produces multiple tornadoes sometimes having more than one on the ground at one time. Saw a picture with 3 tornadoes on the ground Mx a fourth one forming.

1980 Grand Island , Nebraska tornado outbreak is a rather famous case of this. To make it scarier this was a nocturnal event. And has one of the most eerie photograph of a tornado. 7 hit tho one town.

There was another incident also in Nebraska called the Pilger Twins which is a very unique event as it’s rare to have two equally strong tornadoes from the same storm at the same time.

    Happy hunting

  11. The video was posted on the 29th, which was yesterday; although, some comments say 2 and 3 days ago. I don't know, maybe I'm in a time warp, but I wanted to say thanks for the video, Recky. There's something about a tornado, that never gets old.

  12. I remember this! I am in Toledo Ohio, not too far from Van Wert. BTW the average warning time from the sound of sirens is 9 minutes. You have more warning time on average if you get info from television, radio or other media.

  13. I love seeing neighbours helping each other out in the face of such horror. I'm glad Jim was ok and I hope that the families who had to rebuild were able to put in tornado shelters. There is a well known case of 2 tornadoes one after the other but I am damned if I can remember the name, quick google would probably sort that out, but it's a constant fear, especially when folk are doing search and rescue afterwards. Hoping this second season the storms stay in the wild.
