On April 28th, THREE new DLCs will be releasing for Surviving Mars, including a music pack, a skin pack, and TRAINS!! The last of these will significantly change up the game by making resource points more accessible than before with far, far less infrastructure!

I would love to play with the trains, but unfortunately my laptop's processing power is too low to play the base game properly. I'll be in agony until I can replace my laptop with a better one.
Hype! Shame you probably already have your real gameplay colony going. If not. Minmaxed can get boring. I would love to see instead of like max difficulty? Set everything as random as you can go. No idea of techs. Zero map starting knowledge. As much out of your control as can get.
💪🏿💪🏿
Sooooo,
You’re going to be voicing the new trailer for the game again right?
Pravus: Is all excited about the possibility of trains on mars
Me: Gets flashbacks of the J.Carpenter movie "Ghosts of Mars"
Choo-choos on Mars. This is fantastic. I can't wait to crash my economy running rails everywhere. 🙂
It seems like people will need to train for this.
Omg, Snowpiercer
You'll get doctors & scientists transported to your mines much easier now…'No Problem!'
These trains are an incredible game-changer. Wow.
Pravus can you play DUNE: SPICE WARS ??
OMG this will be so much more efficient. I've been working on the railroad all the live long day…
Ooh, something else for meteorites to inexplicably target!
I wish there is emergency shelters as train station add-ons so colonists can stay safely when bad things happen and bring down the track.
I'll be looking forward to watch your playthrough because its amazing and I love terraforming games
That Train dlc is a godsend. Makes for a much more dynamic build instead of trying to build most of our funding dome close to a rare metal extractor. This makes for much better beauty build.
… now I want to reinstall my game. At least once the DLC drops.
The Martian Express pack will be available for a price of 6.99 USD / 6.99 EUR / 5.19 GBP.
Yeah 7€ for a train station, hard pass.
Finnally a way to connect your bases
Will These DLCs be available for PS4 as well or just on PC???
Trains are definitely welcomed (and expected in a way). Would settlers use trains to travel to other (distant) domes for services?
This is actually huge for not just workers, but logistics as a whole.
– Train stations mean being able to efficiently make storage depot hubs without straining shuttle demand or daisy-chaining drone hubs (expensive!).
– You can de-cluster out of dome buildings from the footprint of your domes.
– You no longer need shuttles/drone linking to bootstrap new remote expansions
– It appears to be able to transport O2 and water. +Oxygen farm crops suddenly useful and a possible end to moxxies? The ability to store reserve water/o2 network wide (which is a huge draw for large storage solutions)
– Allows you to more efficiently transport bulk goods like terraform farms/seeds without taking a lot of drone/shuttle time.
– train tracks are fairly narrow targets for meteors (tornados are a concern), but can quickly be patched up with those nearly defunct RC commander vehicles.
Tbh trains should be part of the base game.
Thanks to Paradox for letting me give you guys an early look at the upcoming DLCs! I'll see you again on release day. In the meantime, you can still learn more here by clicking this link! https://rebrand.ly/PravusGaming
Praise Pravus!
this turns this game into Mars Transport Tycoon (Deluxe) 😉
a small Thing that Gives a Big change to gameplay
can the trains go up ramps? The teaser was on very flat terrain.
please do a max difficulty playthrough with the train DLC
Two days.
Looking VERY forward to a new Surviving Mars playthrough to see the new trains! I absolutely love your SM playthroughs.
I bought this game after watching a playthrough of yours when it went on sale, though I haven't started a game quite yet. But from watching that series of Below and Beyond, I have to agree that the trains look like a major logistics game-changer. Shuttles may be faster point-to-point transport, but they have a number of drawbacks and I think you often had trouble with them transporting the materials where you wanted, when you wanted. With the trains/trams, you can set up concrete supply lines of goods and people between locations, and as mentioned, have a wider reach on resource deposits.
This little game has completely surprised me with how long it has been supported.
I'd like to see each country/sponsor have its own unique building skins , that would really add a lot of flavour to the other sponsors.
Any chance they'll be fixing the save glitch where once you get passed Sol 250 to 300 it won't lock up on consoles?
The only thing I think could be improved on is to integrate the train tracks to the existing cabling and pipe networks. Like an improved pipe that also serve as train tracks. Or the ability to run the power cables under the tracks like you would with the live support pipes.
What we really need is go to others planets!!!!
Can you build tracks on Ramps or can Tunnels be used?
Well… it's Cool, but also kinda "meh".
The only hope now is Silva won't sell_to_Paradox/remove his "passage hub" Mod as it is a direct opponent for trains in terms of "workers logistics".
I’ve seen a lot of praise and concern for this trains update. But I can’t find anybody else asking a question that I have. Is it possible to build train tracks going up or down hill? Because what if you want to utilize the peaks and valleys of your map?
I want this
Can a train track be split with a Y connection, or is it just Point A to Point B ?
I just started playing this game this week. My first city builder. Im quite addicted and am enjoying the challenge. Looks like I got (on board) at just the right time… 😏
Does in include perchlorate soil? Of course not. No one includes truth in a DOC or a newsy Mars thing. Hint: The soil on Mars is poisonous
can people finaly walk outside in spacesuite?
what we rly need is inteligent way how to cennect different doms.
THE FIRST 2 DON'T COUNT AS DLC AND THE THIRD ONLY GIVES TRAINS. HARDLY ANY CONTENT
The trains look so cool and useful, but I'm going to wait before purchasing that DLC. Even at ~$4 on the cheap sites it's way too much for something so restrictive and unrefined. Plus, it has a "Mostly Negative" review score on Steam, so I'm not going anywhere near it until it makes sense to purchase it. I think Paradox is a decent company and they could have the developer patch such a blatantly-bad product.
