Looks like Demon's Souls had a baby with Secret of Mana. I have this strange feeling the enemy and combat design need a little work though…
If it's like every Souls game before DS3 you don't go into negative stamina per se, you just won't recharge it for a short time if you bottom it out to penalize you for mismanagement. I always liked that, but I guess no one else did since they eventually relented and let you roll for days on zero stamina in DS3.

I'm Shaunak, the (solo) developer of The Golden Eyed Ghosts. I wanted to thank you for covering the game and for the very valuable feedback! As you guessed correctly, the game is in very early stages of development and so every bug/criticism is very important to me. I will definitely address all of the suggestions you had and make sure I improve the experience. Also, it seems some sounds are missing due to a bug, but I'll try to get that fixed ASAP.
One thing I wanted to tell you is that you only played through about half of the demo (or less)! You can use the warpknife (grappling hook) in the boss room to proceed further through the area! I would love to see you continue the playthrough in part 2 maybe!
