‘A REAL PROBLEM!’ What Trump election means for Prince Harry & Meghan Markle | Palace Confidential

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle should be worried about Donald Trump’s re-election as US President argues the Daily Mail’s Richard Eden on Palace Confidential.

He says the news could be ‘a real problem’ for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as America could now be seen as a ‘much more hostile environment’ for the pair, after previous comments about the President and the recent row over Prince Harry’s US Visa application.

The Mail on Sunday’s Charlotte Griffiths argues that result will leave Harry ‘keeping his head down and burying it in the sand and possibly even running away to Portugal’.

Meanwhile we hear from Robert Hardman who reveals some of the secrets of his updated book Charles II: New King. New Court. The Inside Story including how the legal reasons why King hasn’t been so keen to speak to Prince Harry this week and why he has had cut his brother Prince Andrew off financially.

The Mail on Sunday’s Natasha Livingstone updates the show on the controversy over land owned by the monarch and Prince of Wales being rented by the taxpayer to store ambulances.

Plus Rebecca English sends us her video diary from Prince William’s memorable visit to Cape Town in South Africa – and don’t miss our montage from the tour!

  1. @Daily Mail Royals: In my experience Portuguese people are nor stupid nor ignorant.
Knee busted prostitutes who cosplay royal and traitors are not welcome.
The members of the British royal family who are welcome are the original product and the country is a friendly country with the UK, not neutral on these matters.
What a shame your ignorance on the matter is…..

  2. The Grand Old Duke of York, he had ten thousand men, he marched them up to the hill and marched them down again.
When they marched, they were up
And when they marched they were down
And when they were only half-way up
They were neither up nor down

    Enough said.
    Decision time!

  3. Dear Robert and All of your panel, Portugal is a republic not a monarchy. If we were we do have a royal family so please get your facts straight. Your comment was unkind; we’re a 900 year old country! We don’t need to be ruled by a foreign royal family. There your family your business you take it!

  4. Richard Eden, Prince Henry paid for the restoration of Frogmore Cottage and was evicted. The payment for refurbishing was under the late Queen’s decision-making, the eviction under Charles.
Don’t be fooled; money cannot be wasted or properties be left to ruin for the sake of ego.
Has there ever been a question over Bagshot Hall and its up keep?
Somehow, others maintain their properties yet some seem unable.
The King invested in Dumfries House from 2007.
Has Prince Henry taken up a modicum of his title and invested in Dumbarton, as the Earl?
Wayward, lack lustre princes play not part in a modern monarchy.

  5. The United States is not going to "kick Harry out" over his drug history (that he's never gone to rehab for). Americans just don't want to pay for the luxury lifestyle and security protections he demands. I think he's great – but should pay for his own security. He's a multi-millionaire.

  6. IF POTUS gets personally involved, you will then know America is no longer a nation of rules nor a democracy. There are rules which dictate when a person is deported: a threat to America/Americans/the people in this country. Harry is none of those. Also, our democracy clearly states what department decides these matters. POTUS is NOT that department, nor oversee in these decisions. PERIOD.

  7. Well I have decided ‘Palace Comfidential’ better put up or shut up?? Isn’t Richard Eden a Journalist? How about some real Journalism?? You all have such intimate connections? Are you under some sort of Gag order…..and NDA?? This is like a morning coffee show with a teeny wee bit of gossip…..and absolutely nothing we don’t know. Sorry….I really like Richard and Rebecca…..but all you do is dangle secrets….and actually share nothing. This is not Journalism.

  8. What harry has done to his so called children (if any) imo is far far worse than what harry thinks his father has done to him. Nobody is perfect but i don't understand how a father and mother h&m can treat their own children with such disrespect. These so called children will grow up soon enough and have a huge amount of issues with their mum and dad. It's all so sad,but every family has its issues, it goes to show though money is the route of all evil. Lets just hope that they all find Jesus Christ for some peace very soon. Keep the faith good people AMEN

When The King got his health Scary, everyone expected Queen Camilla keeped on working!!
When princess Anne Go sick, do to an head injury.. everyone was very understanding, she should stay home and not work..
Now when Queen Camilla is sick, you just wondering when she will be back..
    No understanding, what so ever..
She was strong, holding The monarchy on her shoulder.. working working hard!!!!
Now the only comment you have, princess Anne, the others soldiers on!!!

  11. "Allegedly" … Harry has repeatedly exposed himself to be one who easily lies and spins stories that are not true. (Just read his fictional book) Similarly, I dont believe the palace PR either. Who is Harry"s role model for such facile dishonesty? Contrary to what the palace says, in my opinion, it is entirely possible, and perhaps very likely, that the king is secretly using his influence to help untangle Harry's messy lawsuits. This is my opinion. American 1st Amendment. Thank you to our founding fathers and framers of the U S Constitution.

  12. Trump has better things to do than mess with two grifters. However, the Heritage Foundation may get them kicked out once the records are available. If most Americans are familiar with them, their attitudes are probably “take out the trash. “

  13. If he is that concerned why is he NOT IN INDIA? That country is the most egregious carbon and plastic despoiler in the world —a thousand times over the UK and USA . There would not be a problem if India and Latin America curtailed their pollutants! BUT NO ONE WILL POINT OUT THE OBVIOUS.

  14. 29:07 Excuse me Ma’am but how dare you? The election of Donald Trump is a far greater threat to the United Kingdom national security then almost any other country because his election threatens the end of NATO which last I checked is a treaty that your country really depends on. So if I were you, I would keep the carping about his disgusting abuse of power targeting a citizen in the United States, which is what you’re talking about with regard to Meghan Markle, (who I can’t stand by the way), but targeting a citizen because you’re mad at them when you’re the president of the United States is disgusting and unseemly. And you’re sitting there laughing about it? I promise you that six months from now you are not going to be laughing at the fact that he is president again. Wow.

  15. Gosh, so glad I came today to give Palace Confidential another chance, NOT!!! These people, especially Charlotte, are utterly ridiculous. Queen Elisabeth was trying to evict her son from his home, you say??? And the RF role in life is to own a lot of things??? For goodness sake, don't dare mention the amount of tax the royals pay in comparison with other large corporations, I mean, who needs perspective when you're busy peddling a narrative! They take us for fools. What a complete load and waste of time. DON'T CLICK!

  18. Hmm Channel 4 run a hit piece on the duchies of Lancaster and Cornwall. A quick search reveals:

“The King and Prince of Wales are not legally required to pay income tax. However, they have voluntarily paid income tax on income from the Duchies and earnings from personal investments since 1993. They also pay capital gains and inheritance tax in certain circumstances”

I assume if the NHS had asked to store their ambulances on land owned by a non royal no one would bat an eyelid at the amount being paid 🤷‍♀️
