Do they live together already, though? Isn’t it a really new relationship? That’s my only concern for them. Oh wow, they’re engaged already too… why?? I will never understand how reasonable, rational people will make decisions like that. 6 months into a relationship you do not know that person truly. Even if you guys are very open and honest with each other, there’s so much you haven’t seen or experienced of the other person. Being engaged is definitely putting more pressure on this relationship.
Hi John, thanks for this podcast and I hope you read these. I am about to start dating someone (I hope) and I realize this pressure is what is immense for me as well. I really want to see it flourish and actually go somewhere. I've never been in a relationship so this is big for me.
It’s just my opinion but what’s the rush to get engaged after only 6 months? I’ve learned my lessons to slowwww down and wait til the hormonal cocktail comes down and you’ve done some shadow work together or really SEE and know the person….
Marriage is a legal contract. But committing to someone for a lifetime is a big deal. Slow down. Stay loyal with the intent to be long term but I don’t think you really know someone after only 6 months.
